Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

My father-in-law told me that the only thing he wanted for his 94th birthday was to go ocean fishing, so my brother-in-law and I obliged. It was a wonderful day of fishing, and he caught a Sand Bass. The crew was knowledgeable, energetic, polite and helpful, and we look forward to going again on his 95th, if not before. Highly recommend this half day trip. Dana Wharf has a great website, easy to find location and parking, great captains and crews, and a beautiful coastline to enjoy, whether the fish are biting or not!

We saw lots of dolphins but no whales. It is my understanding that you may be stretching the time that whales are in the area and the likelihood of seeimg them this time of year is very low. To my knowledge no one on your tours saw them that day. Perhaps you should reconsider your policy to avoid negative feeback to potential customers.

We enjoyed this cruise very much. We did not see any whales but saw hundreds of playful dolphins. The crew spent time making sure that everyone was able to enjoy the dolphins swimming around the boat.

the pod of dolphins we encountered was a lot of fun. I would suggest that the crew prohibit cigar smoking on the cruise. A few people got a little 'green' - not from the cruise, but from the inconsiderate passenger smoking a nasty cigar.

Entertaining, a great learning experience, nice people. This is my 4th time, and I will go again.

Easy to buy the tickets, the boarding process is quick and efficient. the boat crew were friendly and the weather was great. Now if only the fish would have cooperated but overall it was fun and enjoyable. We plan on goin again.

Nice boat, friendly and accommodating staff. Got to see one Minke whale and some dolphins, including babies. Beautiful weather and spectacular view of coast on trip. Two pointers: 1) Book on weekends because they have a marine biologist on board on weekend trips, and she was very interesting and helpful. 2) Be sure to arrive at the wharf area early because parking gets tight, at least on sunny weekends. There are plenty of places to eat and shop if you need to kill a little time though.

we didn't see any whales or dolphins and therefore got two free tickets for a future ride with no expiration date. That was worth it

It was the first time on the water for my grand-daughters age 6 and 7. they had a great time. The crew was very professional and helpful. My grand-daughters and son-in-law especially enjoyed the great bugers.

The crew was very friendly The marine biologist was knowledgable and very friendly. Even though we did not see any whales the trip was fun.

The boat was comfortable. The crew was excellent. But, not a whale in site and only two dolphins. Nice boat ride though.

Our guide went out of his way to make sure we saw the grey whales. He was an expert who shared info in such a way that we learned while waiting to see the whales. His commentary didn't interfere with the sightings and enhanced our experience with these magnificent creatures.
