Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

First ever whale watching tour and enjoyed it very much. Everything from checking in to disembarking went smoothly. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Recommend some kind of motion sickness aid as it gets choppy on the water. Saw many dolphins and towards the end of the 2 hours finally came up on 2 gray whales. Much appreciation to the boat operator for letting us stay well over our alotted time which enabled us to see the whale's tail! We came back to the dock 6 minutes after the next departure time. Thank you! Plan to do again next year!

Boat trip was relaxing. We only saw a few dolphins on the trip and we were on our way back to the dock when they saw a few whales in another direction and turned the boat around. We were a bit late getting back, but appreciated their effort to get us to see some whale activity. Kids ages 9 and 12 were thrilled to see the dolphins along side of the boat. The whales weren't as close as we would've liked, but could see the difficulty in getting closer.

My kids loved this trip, saw many dolphins close to the boat, two whales who gave us the shot we were looking for tale and all. They were friendly, informative and had snack bar with hot breakfast sandwhichs, bloody marys and baileys and coffee for mom and Dad!

Amazing....our captain stayed out over our scheduled time when we came apon 2 whales and one of them actually showed his tail...........Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! Really made my weekend!!!!! Thank you sooooooooooo much!! :-)

The day was wonderful. Unfortunely, the whales were hiding on us, but the dolphins were out to play. The staff was wonderful and very friendly and courteous. Would go again...

We saw plenty of dolphins but no whales so my kids and the other couples' kids that went with us were sort of disappointed. It was a good experience though.

It was a very good two hour tour. Boat was clean and not over crowded although there were quite a few people on board. I am going again with other family members in April.

I was torn between the $32 and $42 whale watch at first...turns out the extra $10 IS THE WAY TO GO, it gets you a much less crowded boat, room to roam, a great ride and the crew was fantastic...we didn't see but one minor whale, however they met their guarantee, and we all got free passes to come back again (no expire date)...real customer service!!

Didn't think we wouldn't see a whale during the festival of whales, but we didn't...beer was cheap $5. Got a coupon to go again but my friend was from out of town. Otherwise it was a relaxing boat ride...pay the extra $ for the Catermeran...way smoother ride and you have shelter inside from the cold wind.

Dana Wharf Whale Watching was the best deal. They were very knowledgeable and professional with the way they handled, presented and explained about the whales/ ocean life. They give you a free trip/ and or a discount if they do not locate any whales or dolphins for you to see. For the price....."the best deal"!

We saw and followed a whale and saw it surface 3 or 4 times. About 15 dolphins followed close to the boat on the way back. This was a fun and safe trip. The boat was very stable in the water. There was also a sheltered area on the boat in case you hit cold. Also hamburgers and hotdogs cooked to order on board. You will have fun!

Clean boats-plenty of viewing room / knowledgeable staff- we had a great time!

It was a picture perfect day on the Dana Pride 3/10/12. The sun was out the weather was cool but not too cool and the sea was on the calm side. We saw lots of Common Dolphins, a few Sea Lions and one Fin Whale that was around 75'. The whale popped up 4 times and each time the Captain aimed for it so that the passengers would have a better view. The Captain and mates were very informative and answered any questions asked. It was an aswesome day and we'll do it again real soon!
