Whale watching

I went on this trip with my son and my niece, both 7 yrs old. We did see a lot of dolphins swimming, not jumping so much and we saw one whale. It is something to do if you enjoy relaxing on a boat for a ride, nothing too exciting.

Whales & dolphins! You've got to see them!

Our family has been vacationing at the beach for many years but this was the first time during the whale migration. Our group of 7, ages 13 to 70 all had special moments on this trip. We saw several whales and experienced one breaching. An unexpected highlight was traveling with a large dolphin pod which appeared to be feeding. Our captain had observed the pod on our way to view the whales and made sure we got up close and saw them on the way back. Every member of the crew that we met wished us a good morning and made us feel very welcome; smiles all around. The captain and crew were very professional and the boat was very clean and well maintained. As we were first in line we got to go to the bow of the boat which was one of the best places to watch the sea life. Also it was one of the more windy places to be so we were happy to have brought hooded sweatshirts and jackets. On another note, parking was very close and convienent and we were taken care of very well at the ticket desk. I would have no reservation about recommending Dana Wharf for a whale watching tour.

We followed a couple whales down the coast. There was pretty strong wind, so the water was pretty choppy. The whales would come up for air every once in a while, but we could hardly see them. One of the whales jumped out of the water 4 times and that was fun. On the way back we came upon a pod of dolphins. There were at least 50 of them jumping along side the boat. It was awesome!

The captain told us this was not like going to Seaworld so we may or may no see a whale. We eere lucky because we saw 5 whales and followed them at a respectable distance so as not to scare them. The captain also gave us information as to the life of whales.

Had planned on the catamarand, but wind prohibited it. We went out on the Dana Pride. The people in the office more than accommodated the change. We always love to go with this group. Thank you.

We enjoyed our little whale watching trip with several groups of our most favorite strangers! It was enjoyable and very informative and the views were beautiful. The whales were not all that anxious to do tricks but we did get a couple of shots of them blowing and the tail coming out of the water. The captain was entertaining and it was a nice get-away. The birds and sea lions lounging by the pier were a plus. I would recommend this little trip for anyone from out of town.

Gorgeous day, tons of dolphin sightings but the whale sightings were a disappointment. A couple of rolling backs, that's it. I've been on many whale watches before and they always put on a good show. Captain seemed more concerned with getting us back in time to get the next boat out.

We saw 2 whales. Saw them surface. When a dolphin pod was found I was glad the pilot took us to see them. They were delightful.

It was a little rainy so grab a poncho ($2.00), but great trip. Very informative captain, found two whales. Seemed like he followed as long as possible even maybe a little longer than allowed so we would get to see as much as we could. Great trip would do again and might try fishing next time.

The captain and crew were highly educational and fully knowledgeable on species, migration, tracking techniques and habits of the animals observed. Highly Recommended!
