Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

It was a nice day for a boat ride and saw lots of dolphins but no whales. The boat was nice but no whales. They gave us a ticket to come back but seeing as how they are not seeing whales and I live 2,000 miles away it doesn't seem like a free ticket is all that valuable.

Our experience was very nice. We unfortunatley did not see any whales this time but we were issued a voucher for another try at it at our convienience. We did see sea lions and a pod of common dolphins.

We didn't see a whale, but lots of dolphin. Overall a great day out on the water. We will do it again.

the guys on the boat were great. the guys in the shop were horrible service (i almost wanted a refund and didnt want to go after bieng blown off for asking questions). dont hire teenagers to run the shop get people who care. i probably wont use this company again. although the guy with long hair working the snack shack on the boat was really nice and worked really hard. captain was informative.

This was a nice event. We did not see any whales. We did not see many dolphins either. Make sure it is sunny and warm outside.

Crew was fantastic

It is amazing that the migration of the grey whale is taking place in front of our very eyes. The whale watching cruise is a wonderful opportunity to observe the migration of this magnificent animal.

All of our experience was very positive except that it was sometimes difficult to hear and/or understand what was being said over the speakers depending upon where we were located. Safety information at the beginning was almost unintelligible. Perhaps it could be given before the boat is underway. Crew members answered questions in a professional and friendly way when asked. This was a very enjoyable experience!

Saw dolphins, seals, and 2 Grey Whales.

My mother, best friend, and myself had a great time on this whale watching excursion. We saw two grey whales, a pod of dolphins, and some adorable seals. Thankfully the crew also handed out 50% off coupons for the next time and I can't wait to use them! Thanks for a great tiem!

It is a great opportunity to see wild whale close to home! Very exciting! You have to be there to experience it! However, my kids got sea sickness and couldn't enjoy as much as I do. :(

We were lucky to track a mom and baby with some other critters, it was a great time, my only complaint was that the captain kept the animals continually to the right of the boat where all the tall men gathered so women and children were forced to look and take pictures under arm pits, maybe you could try to move back and forth

The morning was very cold, but fortunately we bundled up well. We got a great spot on the upper deck to sit and watch for whales. The boat was very clean and the captain friendly. It was an overcast and gray morning. We saw sea lions playing across from the boat while still at the dock. I was able to get pictures of them. The trip out was great. The sun was peeking through the clouds causing sun rays to shine down on the ocean - it was beautiful. We saw occasional dolphins, but no great group of them. It didn't matter. Where else can you take a boat ride out and see such spectacular scenery. Then, as we were heading back, it happened: two gray whales had been spotted. Our boat rushed to bring us a little closer to watch them. It was more than I could have imagined. This was something that was on my "bucket list." They were so big and majestic as they rose and moved through the water. The plume of their spray was very easy to see. Then it happened - one of the whales went into a deep dive and we saw the fluke - its tail up as if motionless in the water. It was so exciting. Even the crew were impressed. It was the Gray Whale Festival and it was the first fluke they had seen. We stayed out past our allotted time to watch these whales. For that, I am grateful. It was a wonderful trip that I would recommend to anyone visiting the area - you will not forget it!

Such a great experience! The day started off slow with just a few dolphins but the trip ended with TWO Gray Whales! We got to hang around for about 20 min and got some good pictures! I whale watch through Dana Wharf often and will definitely be back!!
