Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

Well Done!

The crew were very involved and made the trip very fun. Would definitely go on another trip again!

The skipper and crew were awesome. There was a marine expert on board who narrated and explained behaviors. They let all the kids on board go into the wheel house and "drive" the boat. Although I had no children with me I thought this was a very wonderful thing. We saw whales, they explained how to spot them and track them. We saw so many dolphins it was like being in a Jacque Cousteau show. The dolphins were worth the price of the ticket!

The boat, The Dana Pride, was clean and safe and our skipper was educated and very knowledgeable about the mammals we hoped to see, from whales to different dolphins etc. He did not dumb-down his narration and I liked that. As it happened the fog rolled in and we didn't see any whales so we got a whale-rain-check - much appreciated. Boat crew were friendly and very agreeable. We shall be back soon. Thanks.

Prompt, courteous, professional trip and saw lots of dolphins, sea lions, and whales including a mama and her calf. Beautiful coastline view heading up to Laguna Beach and back. Just a great glorious day!!

Great trip, we saw so many dolphins.

Did not spot any whales but totally enjoyed boat trip out in the big blue. Boat/yacht was beautiful, clean with excellent menu selection in the galley. So relaxing and enjoyable. Saw plenty of dolphins which was spectacular. Totally appreciate voucher to experience again. Intuition says we will catch that grey whale next time

We were so delighted and fortunate to have spotted 5 whales on our trip. Our crew was SO great, informative and polite. I would definitely recommend this company.

I can certainly understand the cancellation due to the weather. Unfortunately I flew in from Arizona, was only there for the fishing trip and now I can't get a refund. In my opinion Dana Wharf and Zerve are both a bunch of crooks.

The cruise boat was very clean and orderly. Crew was A+. The only thing our group would have recommended would be for the captain to announce a tad more about the grey whales (ie: since Newport Coast is such a fashion hub, it would be interesting to note a fun fact such as "ambergris". It comes from the whales and is historical in the use of a fixative in the perfume industry. The captain was wonderful in announcing whale info, but possibly add 5% of fun details such as this. All in all GREAT EXPERIENCE and would do it again.

We had a great time. The Dana Wharf facility has ample parking, friendly staff and clean boats. The captain's running narrative while we were out in the ocean was entertaining, educational and high energy. We saw at least four whales. Bonus round: a dozen dolphins followed the boat and played in the boat's wake for awhile. The captain glided by the harbour bouy on the return trip and gave us a close look and quick lesson about the seals/sea lion piled up in the float. I would highly recommend Dana Wharf Whale Watching trip.

This was a nice event. We did not see any whales. We did not see many dolphins either. Make sure it is sunny and warm outside.
