Great time amazing boat crew. A must do

We did not see any whales but we saw a lot of dolphins, they were playing right next to the boat. Boat was clean and the staff was professional.

Crew was VERY helpfull,and if you are polite with them they will treat you back with respect. Bad part is that the people onboard (the other fishermen) are rude.When the boat leaves the harbor all fishing pole sockets are taken,and they would go over your space too.I wish they would understand we are all on one boat to fish,and regardless from where you fish on the boat it all comes down to : skill and luck !! Great job DANA WHARF !

I usually fish at Pierlanding in Long Beach. Ready to try something new at Dana. We were told the water temperature had gone down and that fish weren't biting. They were right! However, we my group noticed that the squid had "run-out" really fast. We then began fishing with half-dead anchovies. I also noticed that the person next to me had landed a rare Swell Shark. He was calling for the net and the deckhand said it wasn't necessary. He lost the shark and missed a great picture opportunity. The shark stayed around and was eventually caught by another fisherperson. Deckhand folks quickly went for the net and the shark was carefully caught and released. Probably not going back.

We had a brisk boat ride out as the captain wanted to catch up to the two whales seen earlier headed up the coast. Ocean swells of about 6 feet and 20 mph made for a fun ride for all as we bounced over the waves at the bow of the boat. What a thrill to see those two enormously beatiful creatures gliding accross the surface. Four or five breaths and a deep dive of approximately nine minutes each. We stayed with the whales for about five cycles. The footprint left on the surface demonstated the power these mamals possess. Rizo dolphins rarely allow boats to approach but they did not seem to mind us as we were able to stay with the pod on the surface during the nine minute intervals. So our trip was not dull waiting for the whales to surface and put on their short but spectacular show. We loved it.

I like the fact that there are experienced fishermen on board to help people out. Ducks kept getting my bait and the deck hands came to untangle them. They also helped out if someone's line got caught or tangled with someone else's line.They even fillet your fish for you for $1!

The overall trip was good. The Hands where helpful. Trip was smooth and eventful. Come time to leave I ask the deck hand where are the numbers on the sacks. He said I took them off. I asked him how am I suppose to find these 3 bags. Number 10,20 and,39. He replied oh I know where they are. So I said can you get them for me, and he said sure. Then he says I can't find them how many fish are you missing? To which I replied 3. He said someone must have taken them. No kidding I replied. I have been on trips in Oceanside, San Diego and other places too. And they all make sure this doesn't happen. So good trip poor deck hand. I will probably stick to what I am use to in the future. It's ok for catch and release but that wasn't want I was looking for in this trip. Also the other two guys that I was picking up the fish for were not to happy either. I still tipped him 5 dollars.

Our friendly and knowledgeable crew took us out from the Harbor and carefully told us what to expect as we all searched the waters. Then came the star of the afternoon allowing us to enjoy the magnificent Blue whale who surfaced and presented his tail fluke three times. In between the whale's dives to feed, our catamaran Captain found two pods of the Common dolphin for us to follow and enjoy while chatting about other marine life in the area! I was an elated grandma to share this perfect afternoon with my 14 year old grandson and daughter. Ordering my tickets online through Zerve was very user friendly and easy. Thank you!

We enjoyed the twilight fishing with the gang at the Dana Warf Sport Fishing! We had a great time. The crew did a great job of helping us out with the "fish on" and addressing the needs with our tackle. We will be back!

Saw dolphin, sea otter, and 2 whale (over and over again) GREAT

Everything about the experience was excellent...from the crew to the cleanliness of the boat. The crew's ability to find Blue Whales and Dolphins was outstanding and the Captain's narrative along the way was especially valuable and not overdone.

The trip was nice (although you can never guarantee catching a big fish), but the only thing I would comment is that some of the crew members (and a few guests) smoked while on board. While I assume this is "legal", it is certainly something that can make the trip unpleasant -- especially for those that may be still finding their sea-legs. Gag.

Very knowledgable Captain- I liked how he warned the small boats to stay away from the whales or he would call the coast guard
