Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

What a fun trip. We loved the information the captain gave us throughout the trip. My kids were delighted. Thank you!

We had a great time. We were excited to see the whales and even though we saw 2 different type of dolphins (which the captain did a great job of explaining) and sea lions, we unfortunately were unable to see whales. I do give credit to the captain for going out further to find them.

This was something we've never done before so it was really exciting. Being up close to the dolphins was amazing and something that my family and i will never forget. thanks to the captain and crew for a smooth boat ride and all the information about the area and animals. will definitely be back again!!

The trip out included interesting narration on whales and porpus. We pretty quickly found ourselves in a group of about a hundred porpus' and two grey whales. We had an escellent time.

My husband and I took the 2 o'clock excursion to look for whales and dolphins. The view from the boat was phenomenal. The boat crew was very good at giving us information about the dolphins and the whales. We only saw a few whales but we saw lots of dolphins. We also got some really good pictures. I would recommend bringing binoculars to get the best view of the whales. The boat is very comfortable and a good size.

I took my 5 year old grandson on this whale watching experience and neither of us were disappointed! We observed curious sea lions, playful dolphins "surfing" in the wake of the boat, and two gray whales. The staff was knowledgable and greatly contributed to our positive experience.

Trip was exactly as advertised. Short time before we saw dolphins and porpoises. Saw a gray whale that was skiddish but the captain did a great job of staying with him. I would highly recommend this trip.

When you take trips like this you never know for sure if you will actually see marine life. I've been on the trip twice now and have had the pleasure of seeing whales, dolphins and sea otters each time. The crew is very knowledgable and friendly. This makes a great date as well. You have time to converse in the galley and also see some great views.

We are 10 friends that belong to the Red Hat Society. This was our February outing (2/25/12) - two days after the large group of dolphins were spotted. We did not see any dolphin but we did find a grey whale and followed him for about an hour. The crew of the boat were very informative, helpful and a lot of fun. We had been on a whale watching tour out of Santa Barbara last September and the crew was a dud compared to the crew we had on Saturday.

My family and I went out whale watching on the Dana Pride. The captain did an outstanding job communicating what to look for and locating a grey whale. Once the captain positioned us near the whale, he maintained a consistent distant. This allowed my 2 year old daughter and I to build some great memories and take lots of pictures. We have returned to the Dana Pride for a second whale adventure and this time we saw two grey whales. Definitely would recommend to anyone that wants to see a whale out in the wild!

We had an excellent day whale watching. The Captain was super informative and we spent about an hour following one Grey Whale up the coast. It was awesome!
