Crossed Off My Bucket List

It was a nice November afternoon in Laguna Niguel. We were celebrating my bestfriend's birthday so as a group we went whale/dolphin watching. We got there early since its recommended to do so since the boat leaves promptly when it arrives to board the passengers. We board around 3pm and came back to the harbor a little after 5pm. The experience was wonderful. The scenery and the environment is beautiful. You're on out in the dark blue ocean, with seagulls flying beside the boat, as well as other boats scouting the surface waters as well. Then the moment that you wait for comes....dolphins galore!!! Such a neat sight to see as these are such graceful creatures that glimmer in the sunlight as their bodies are coated with ocean water. We unfortunately did not spot any whales during our adventure. If we had gone weeks earlier I'm sure we would have. There is a season for everything. I definitely recommend going especially if you've never done it before. If you want it romantic, bring a date. If you want to have a little more fun and involvement with more people, bring a group of friends. No matter what, make sure you bring a warm coat and a camera. You don't want to miss out. P.S. There is an area downstairs of the boat that serves alcohol and snacks as well as hot chocolate and popcorn. That was indeed the icing on the cake.

Good fun and very educational trip. Didn't get to see any whales but loads of dolphins made up for it.

It was a beautiful trip up the coast of Dana Point. We found ourselves surrounded by over 1,000 dolphins, who stayed with the boat for over an hour. The boat is a large, clean catamaran with a very professional crew. I highly recommend this company.

Disappointing day overall

Captain took us to three spots and fish were minimal. There were six of us at the front of the boat and the staff did not want to put bait in the front...instead they said that there is plenty of room in the back to fish. Not true. We had to walk back and forth each time for bait. I do not recommend nor will I go back.

THE BEST!

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and then sometimes you win the star! The cat is easy to move in search of whales, and boy did we move. We saw the "tail" the ultimate in a whale watching trip. We saw so many whales that I lost count, several couples, and that was neat. The commentary by the Captain, was informative, interesting, and fun. You should go just for the lesson. We had guest from Tenn. and friends said " yeah yeah, sure you will see whale" They called everyone with excitement of the trip. Thank you for always kicking the bar up and making the experience better, I love the new boat.

One doesn't always get to see whales on a whale-watching trip -- one of our party said that she'd been out a couple of times previously without glimpsing any whales. But we were especially fortunate this time and saw well over a dozen whales, along with a pod of dolphins. I actually thought the dolphins were more fun to watch! The boat is clean, the crew is pleasant, and it's a nice excursion even if you don't get to experience any sea mammals.

We were in town for a wedding and wanted to accomplish a bucket list endeavor. This experience was absolutely wonderful! Captain Todd was so knowledgable and passionate as he educated us about the dolphins, whales and sea lions that we saw. The entire crew were friendly and went out of their way to assure us a great trip. Thank you!

it's unfortunate that the pelicans, diving birds, and seals makes you rethink your strategy to fish and to virtually only bottom fish. Catching fish was very limited but the captain tried hard and moved the boat more than he probably wanted. Still any day fishing was better than the best day of work.

The Whales didn't get the memo. They were nowhere to be seen. Cpt. Todd made the "hunt" very enjoyable . Looking forward to our next adventure.
