Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

I've lived in the Inland Empire all of my life and I've never been Whale Watching. I took my grown daughter and her three sons (my grandsons), ages 3 1/2 months to 14 years. We all had a blast. We all learned a lot about the Whales from the Captain and his helper. The boys didn't know if they would like it or not, they didn't, they loved it. The day we went out was a bit windy and the boat was rocking some. The baby has never felt his stomach feel that way and was laughing so much I had to take a video of it. The Captain went out of his way to find Whales, Dolphins and Sea Lions for all of us. He wanted to make sure we had a memorial time and we did. Everyone from check in to leaving was wonderful. I wasn't sure how the staff would react to an infant and a stroller, but they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Thank You All. B.Grandia

I generally do not get seasick, but a constant gail of cigarette and cigar smoke took care of that. With a crowd of people in pretty tight quarters, there should be no smoking allowed. I think it will be a long time before I go out again.

If you are grandparents along for ride with the grandkids be aware there is no comfortable seat on the boat "Reel Fun" and you are sitting in the sun for 4 hours and hopefully not bad sea conditions. Make sure you bring along your dramamine just in case. Kids had a ball when a large wave came over the front of the boat and they got soaked. For me it was too long, too nauseaus, too hot, and stinky between the poor sardines as bait , squid, frying hamburgers, and no where comfortable to sit. Not good for bad back. Everyone was catching fish and they enjoyed that. Sea was not calm due to storm in the morning and rain.

Great time, saw lots of whales, clean spacious boat and good sized drinks!!

Too many "serious" fishermen running around the boat overhead casting - recipe for disaster with no one in charge to stop them. Too many young children running around the boat unsupervised - again, no one in charge to stop them. Finally, I don't care if we are outdoors. Boat should be non-smoking. That includes the crew.

Could not have asked for a better experience. Far exceeded our expectations.

Saw several whales and a sun fish. nice

We did not really expect to see any whales, but would have been happy to see a few dolphins and have a nice boat trip on the water. We saw so many big blues that we stopped counting! The guides were great, very knowledgable. Best $42.00 ever spent! Do it!

Great time. Friends and I brought home 12 fish (shared). Captain and crew were great, although VERY busy. Love the new pricing.

We had a great time but probably won't go again on the 25 dollar evening. Shoulder to shoulder people. Too crowded. I suggest you have 25% percent less people. Or have limits. We did catch fish though.

Grandchildren (boy 10 & girl 12), son, husband (disabled - used a walker) and myself had a FANTASTIC time. Grandchildren and son visiting from Texas -- the catamaran ride, seeing the whales and the dolphins were great. Would recommend this adventure to all age groups and the handicapped.

Amazing whale watching adventure. Blue whales, dolphins and the sea lions were easily viewed and enjoyed by those on board the catamaran. Everyone had a good view and watched the sea life in their natural environment. Thanks so much for a great day!

We saw at least five or six blue whales and many many dolphin, plus lots of other marine life. It was unbelievable and we were very lucky and saw the fluke of a huge blue whale when he dove deep. Would pay three or four times as much and be very satisfied.
