Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

I would recommend this two hour outing to anyone. It was very interesting and the tour guide was very knowlegable on the subject of dolphins and whales and the area in general. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

had a great time, the captain was awesome. Knew all about the dolphins, and whales. Made the day alot of fun. Beautiful weather, would highly recommend it to everyone.

Me n my lil boys had a great time. The crew was so helpful and friendly. We didn't catch any take home fish but one of the other passengers did and gave us some to take home and cook up for dinner! There is nothing like fresh caught fish for dinner! It was a fun experience for both me n my boys!!

Great family fun but we didn't see a whale! But we saw many playful dolphins and sea lions. The staff is very knowledgeable about sea life.

The service was good. Cruise loaded and left on time and returned on time. Restroom and canteen facilities were provided. Unfortunately, as happens with wild life occasionally, the whales did not show up but a school of dolphins did perform quite a show. The weather was perfect and sea calm. The only thing left to ash for was the whales.

I decided to surprise my girlfriend by taking her here because her favorite animal are dolphins. Even though we didn't happen to see any whales on this specific trip there were dolphins galore! Personally I had never seen so many of them and they swim right up to the ship so they are easy to see! We definitely had a great time! Crew and everyone were very nice and knowledgable as well. Worth it.

A rare day. The weather was perfect, the boat wasn't too crowded and clean with great drinks and snacks, and the dolphins were out in droves. Even the Captain hadn't seen so many dolphins at one time. They were following the boat for miles, playing and jumping out of the water. A great treat.Yes, I know it was a whale watching tour, but we'll be back because it was a wonderful exciting and rare sighting.

We saw three species of dolphin and sea lion! It was great!

The captain and crew were very knowledgeable of all the wild life we encountered. We only wish that they had gone farther north towards Laguna Beach (just a couple miles) looking for whales. Our boat was in contact with other boats, but we think it was still worth a shot to head up the line. We saw sea lions, many different types of dolphin, a gray whale, and a very camera friendly pelican. We're going to go again in March to catch a look at the northbound whales and their calves.

We had a spectacular show from the whales, dolphins and sea lions. The boat crew were all very professional and provided wonderful information that allowed us to understand the behaviors of the sea life we were viewing. Worth every cent!

We went on the tour on Jan-24-2012. The price was $18.00 per person (includes a $2.00 booking fee). My wife and I are from Montreal, Canada. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We saw whales and dolphins and the Captain of the boat went out of his way to give us the maximum time. Of course we were fortunate to see two whales and we followed them for a while. The thrill of looking out to spot these mammoth beauties was fantastic.The dolphins swam along side the boat and gave us all a real treat. Only thing when the captain spotted sea loins he did not tell us where. we did not see them at all.maybe had we been on front of boat? Over all a very good tour

Fortunately I was able find the right motion sickness med. Sunny day, 2 spy hops, couple of flukes, lots of dolphins close to the boat. Captain had hick-ups the whole time. Quality entertainment. Nothin' bad to say!

We usually try to take a whale-watching trip whenever we visit the area, usually once or twice a year. We don't always see whales, but are never disappointed. We saw gray whales this trip. The dolphins are always around and very entertaining. Also, if the weather is good (and it usually is) the trip on the water and the fabulous view of the coastline make the trip worthwhile. The crew is always friendly and very informative.

I live in a beautiful Victoria, BC which has it's own fleet of whale watching boats/etc. -- but to be out on the sunny coast of southern California in a lovely boat with a great crew was fantastic. I, my sister, niece and two cousins from the East Coast had a fabulous time as we watched two greys and tons of dolphins play and feed in the blue water during the very relaxing 2 hours on the Dana Wharf boat. The crew is well informed, friendly and reliable -- very organized and professional. If you don't take the time to go out with the Dana Wharf crew, you've missed a wonderful time!
