Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

35 (approx) people.....and bait boxes......people casting lines and catching other people's hair in the hook and bait. Personally I think it was too many people in a smallish boat.

the captain did his best to find us a whale but no luck this day. He did put us in several dolphin pods with many baby dolphins to watch. Sunfish, anchovies, sunshine and good smooth ride still made it a good day to be on the water. and they made a good grilled cheese sandwich too!

Mostly I just love being out on the water. This particular day we were lucky enough to see hundreds of dolphins. The crew is great at providing info and commentary. Enjoyed it immensely.

I would highly recommend the Catamaran Adventure Cruise. The crew were friendly, courteous and very informative. We didn't get to see any Blue Whales, but the two huge pods of dolphins more than made up for it. Awesome trip!

Wonderful trip. Didn't see any whales the first day so we got free 'reschedule' tickets and we went out the next day. Saw hundreds of dolphins and had a wonderful boat ride. Excellent value for the money and very friendly and professional staff. Highly recommend a trip.

The boat was clean and not crowded. The crew was very nice and knowledgeable about whales in the area. The weather was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. We have already recommended this trip to several friends. Thank you to the crew for such a great trip and we will be back.

there were not many fish caught base they said on weather what was caught was very small

It started out slow but they found the fish . every body caought fish . I caught a monster!

I really thought that whale watching was only in the winter. I figured in August we could see some dolphins maybe, some seals but have a nice cruise. We saw several blue whales -- and far closer than I would have thought. Great day, one of the best of the summer (mid August). It was a great experience. Of course, we hit a great day, but still. Price on Tuesday was quite affordable as well. .

I am a local, and I don't get out on the water often enough. Here I am, in Southern California, right on the ocean, and I don't take advantage of being here. Well, my whale watch trip was perfect. The weather was great, I didn't even need the jacket I had brought along. The blue whales came in pairs, and so did the fin whales! We were up close and could hear the spouting as well as see them. It was a very enjoyable two hours, the crew were informed and friendly, and the whales put on quite a show.

THE FISHING TRIP WAS ADVERTISED TO BE FROM 5 :30 TO 10:30 BUT WE WERE BACK AT THE DOCK AT 9:30 ONE HOUR SHORT OTHER WISE IT WAS OK

I am in the Pure surgar fishing crew i know all four of us love Dana Wharf Sportfishing, the deckhands are helpful, the fishing is usely good, and the boats are keep in good condition

The trip was very fun. The crew was frendly te captain knew all the good pots and the fishing was great until they moved the boat from the kelt beds. everyone was pulling up nice fish in the kelt beds but the captain moved the boat and everyone got angry and didnt catch a fish. but other than that the trip was very fun and was the perfect lenght.

Great weather, calm seas and saw our 1st whale less than 15 minutes out to sea. Followed that whale and saw him surface, heard him exhale, saw the blowhole and saw him breach and dive deep several times. I loved the blue glow of the water when the whale was swimming just below the surface. It was an awesome experience. I would highly recommend it, expecially on 1/2 price Tuesdays. I think the check in process needs to be a bit more organized. The sign at the door asked that you wait there for the next agent and people were just walking by us and going up to the counter. The people working in the shop and on the boat were friendly and informative.
