Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

We did not see any whales on our trip, but we were given vouchers to use on any return trip. We are from Indiana, but plan on going out to California again in the next couple of years. They said that the vouchers were good forever, so we plan to use them later. Seas were pretty choppy that day. Crew seemed helpful. would recommend this to friends

Excellent captains who made every effort to find whales and gave us a ticket to use in future because no whales were sited.

I've been on 1/2 day and 3/4 day fishing trips a few times with Dana Wharf Sportfishing, and I've always had a great time. The crew is attentive and helpful, and all the details are always taken care of. I highly recommend Dana Wharf Sportfishing, and look forward to my next outing on one of their boats.

I took my sister on a tour of some Southern California beaches. We hung out all day in Laguna Beach and then headed over to the whale watching tour. There was plenty of room for everyone to find a seat and it was so beautiful right before sunset. The captain of the ship recommended the best restaurant for afterwards too.

Good, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Clean boat with plenty of space to move around. Saw both dolphins and whales on the trip.

Saw no whales but a few dolphin on our first trip, so we got a "whale check" to come back for free. Went the next day and the group before us did not see a whale, so we were worried but ended up having a fantastic sighting of 2 large gray whales. We followed them for a while and got some great pictures and videos, but the dolphin we found on the way back were almost better! They found a group of very active, playful dolphins, around 300-400 of them, and they swam and jumped alongside us for a long time, very close to the boat! We originally went on 1/2 price Tuesdays, so we got 2 great boat rides for the price of one. It was a really fun trip.

There was no fish to be found, but it was still fun. I'll do it again in the summer.

It was nice to have the tickets in advance. The website was easy and fast to use. When we arrived at our location we still had to wait in a long line to turn our tickets in to the person at the counter in order to get the Whale Watching tickets. I would like to see that step eliminated.

YA IT WAS GREAT THE THE CREW ON THE BOAT WAS SUPER HELPFULL AND FUN

Went out on the water and not 15 minutes later were already on the tail of two California Gray Whales. The captain and the man on deck giving information were extremely helpful. We wee always on top of the whales. We managed to find seals and dolphins along the way as well. Drinks were reasonably priced too. All in all, a great experience. Well worth the time and money.

We saw dolphins and one whale -- one person in our group was from Montana and it was his first time seeing the ocean and of course his first time seeing marine life. The Dana Pride is my favorite boat -- the captain and his crew are exceptional. I would (and have) highly recommend the Dana Pride to my friends and out-of-town visitors. We had a great time and they tried to find the whales. They even offered a longer trip when they found out where some whales were, but there were people on board that had to be back at 5:00. They gave us all rainchecks to come back for another trip.

There were too many people on the boat and several families brought on large strollers which took up even more room. Occasionally the captain would get on the microphone but it was so staticy, we could not understand him and to top it off not only did we not see any whales, we did not see any dolphins either. We did however see a group of seals and in the end they returned our tickets to us but the problem was I had gone with a friend from out of town so she will never be able to use that returned ticket.

Great time. Bring a jacket. It was cold out on the water and the sun was shining. Saw 4 whales and many many dolphins swimming along the boat. Very cool. Take 2 Dramamine if you are the queasy type. You will need it!
