A little disappointing

| Done this cruise many times and have always had a great time. This time the boat was small with no upper seating this ment we had to sit down below (which we did not want to do) or stand for 2 hours. Although we are in our 80's we are very active but standing in a moving boat for 2hrs is not pleasurable. We will think twice before doing it again | ||||||

| The folks at Dana Wharf did a wonderful job of taking care of us and seeing to it that we saw as much sea life (whales, dolphin, and sea lions) as there were to see. The crew was clearly interested in providing us a memorable experience. Well done! | ||||||

| It couldn't have been more perfect; the weather was beautiful, the boat was well maintained, the captain was quite knowledgable....and...we hadn't much more than cleared the breakwater when a whale was spotted. We cautiously followed it for about an hour, taking lots of photos and getting good views without disturbing the whale. I would highly recommend this trip. | ||||||

| Thought it was costly since there were very few fish caught. Should have gone to a few more spots. | ||||||

| The boat captain was professional, courteous, knowledgable, and dedicated. We did find a whale to look at and that was exciting for someone who has never seen one before. The boat ride alone was a great way to pass the time. So even if we hadn't found a whale, the ride was nice. The price was not out of line. My wife and my son had a good time too. My wife did have one complaint. According to the trip description, brownies were supposed to have been handed out but we didn't get any. | ||||||

| We saw one blue whale...way, way in the distance, and the crew tried really hard to "catch it" before it made a dive, but didn't succeed. We had a wonderful run with a huge pod of dolphins though...a great experience. The crew was very jovial and accommodating. I would recommend, even if you don't see a whale!! | ||||||

| The cruise was everything we had hoped for, except someone forgot to tell the whales of our rondavue point., HA! Never the less, it was very enjoyable, & relaxing. We intend to book another cruise on our next trip. | ||||||

| Our 3-generation group (Father, Mother, 2 Daughters and 1 granddaughter) had a terrific time on our whale watching trip on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. The weather was perfect, with warm, sunny sky, very light breeze and light, glassy seas. The boat was nice and roomy, and certainly didn't feel crowded with around 29 pasengers and crew of 4. All of the crew were very friendly and helpful. The marine biologist on board, Morgan Ritchie, and her assistant were very knowledgeable and added a lot to the trip. We even bought one of Morgan's excellent photos on the way in. We saw three different blue whales, which are awesome creatures. We also saw a mola mola (ocean sunfish) near the boat and a large marlin that jumped clear out of the water several times, though it was too far away to photograph. And, of course, we saw common dolphins - hundreds of them! Many of the dolphins were accompanied by their young ones, as they swam right next to the boat and jumped around in large areas near the boat. Almost everywhere we looked, there were dolphins. My old digital camera was way too slow on the shutter speed to get the really good shots of the whales venting upon surfacing or having their tails high in the air as they started deep dives, but my daughter got some really great photos. All-in-all, it was a wonderful trip, and I highly recommend it. We'll be back for grey whale season. | ||||||

| hotter than heck but the fish were biting. Everysingle fish I caught had to be thrown back because they were 11 inches. Ilove being on the boat out on the ocean even though I did not bring home anything this time. Everyone is helpful. | ||||||

| Evening whale watch tour...saw thousands of dolphins, then TWO Blue Whales. Spent an hour with the whales...saw them up close, and could hear the sound of their blowing...a sound you will never forget...like a call from some prehistoric past. Too beautiful to describe...you have to do it yourself...highly recommend it. | ||||||

| The Dana Point Whale Watching cruise was the best adventure we have experienced in a long while. The captain and crew were outstanding and they knew where to go to see outstanding sea life. Great adventure for everyone. | ||||||
