Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

The boat was fine I felt safe. The captain told us facts (great).The scenery was great .Iam definitely going again.Staff was not friendly which was a little deterrement.But I definitely give you great recommendations to my friends .They will be going next week. And anybody I talk to I will recommend you guys for a very lovely fun day.

The tour guides were great at letting us know where and what we were seeing. I wish it was just longer.

I emailed the company to ask about wheelchair access prior to purchasing tickets. They responded quickly and were helpful, suggesting specific sailings that would be best to take on the date I selected. The times worked into our schedule. But, upon check in and the entire sailing there was no assistance with boarding, and simple things like where the rest room, where the best location for us to sit was, and getting on and off with grace. The cruise was glorious, even though we didn't see whales, only dolphins. Oh, they didn't give everyone in our party a coupon to return with 50 off either. Only gave it to 3 out of 5. Even after I asked. That sucked.

This was a nice trip with clean, safe and professional accomodations. However, we did not see any whales so was really disappointed. Whenever these trips promise to see whales there is an even bigger disappointment if none. We saw dolphins and many birds so all was not lost! The Captain was friendly and informative, I would have liked him to speak more on the wildlife as he seemed to know alot and was quite interesting.

We had a great time. We were excited to see the whales and even though we saw 2 different type of dolphins (which the captain did a great job of explaining) and sea lions, we unfortunately were unable to see whales. I do give credit to the captain for going out further to find them.

Trip was exactly as advertised. Short time before we saw dolphins and porpoises. Saw a gray whale that was skiddish but the captain did a great job of staying with him. I would highly recommend this trip.

Crew was informative and we saw several types of whales!

For my 56th birthday I decided to treat my parents, spouse, teenage AND adult children and grandchildren (ages 2,5,6 and 11) to whale watching at the Dana Point Harbor. We have gone before and had a fun adventure for the day. Although last year when we went for Valentine's Day we had a spectacular day (seeing not only whales, but dolphins and seals) this year our tour guide left the whales we spotted first thing, to visit a pod of dolphins. Turned out that we never did get to see whales for the day. In addition, our guide ignored a number of seals sun bathing and zoomed right past them. I guess because we had such a fantastic trip last year this year was a bit uneventful except for the 15 minutes we had with the dolphins! I understand that depending on the day and time we don't always see all three of these amazing creatures however we might have had the guide followed the first whale he had spotted and also taken us for five minutes to see the seals! All-in-all the trip on the ocean was fun, the boat very comfortable and the hot chocolate and snacks were tasty! We are planning another trip out to see the whales with my brother when he comes to visit from Northern California. This time I will ask the guide to see the seals too! I would definitely recommend this activity for all ages and especially families with children!

This was so much fun, we saw a grey whale, a humpback whale, seals and dolphins ! I would recommend it for everyone. Just the views alone were great

We saw not one whale on our 2 hour tour. That was disappointing!

The skipper was very well versed on all the sea life we saw. My 10 year old grand daughter is now enthused about whales and marine life. The day was windy & chilly but so worth the trip. The boat was clean, staff friendly and professional. 2 hours is just the right amount of time. Go and have a look at the sea!

We had a group of 10 people from age 12 to 90 and we all had a fantastic time. Mom (90) was completely safe with her walker and had no trouble boarding or boating, which was my concern. We all got to see the grey whales, the sun was out, the ocean was quite calm, and it was a great day! An.d they gave us 50% coupons off the next time if we choose to come back again, which I think I will! Big thumbs up and you'd better make those reservations and GO

Wonderful day on the ocean, we could see Palos Verdes Penninsula to the north and Catalina was crystal clear! Beautiful scenic trip up to Laguna Beach, spotted one gray whale and pods of "rare" white sided dolphins. The boat was clean, the staff very helpful and the scenic cruise up the coast was wonderful. It was fun to see my childhood beach in Laguna from the "ocean" view. GREAT time had by all and look forward to doing it again ASAP. Thank you all so much!!
