All in all it was a good trip. The deck hands were good and the captain was enthusiastic. One of the things I would recommend would be to have the boat loaded with bait before patrons get on the boat. I was told the boat left at 6:30am and we didn't really leave until about 7am. Then we spent another 15 minutes plus to load the boat with bait. I just think people prefer the time fishing rather than watching the bait get loaded onto the boat. But all in all a good trip. Although I've lived in Dana Point most of my life, I had never gone fishing before. Since we had some friends in from out of town, we thought it might be fun to go fishing. Positive: - Alcohol and food served in the galley - Clean boat - Boat goes to where the fish are biting - Fun times with so many people on the boat (lots going on) Negative: -Absolutely NO instruction for first timers -Lots of people on the boat (100) -Can't sit while fishing -1st 40 mins of trip is spent getting bait -Hard to maneuver around boat - especially with so many people on boat

The Captain kept us on the fish, with the right bait and the right instruction to catch the most fish. A Great experience.

We saw an amazing pod of killer whales on the voyage! The crew was so excited and truly related this excitement to the whale watchers. We "played" with the whales for over an hour. We also saw sea lions, dolphins, and a large yellow sun fish. The boat was large, clean and had plenty of seating or standing room for all. The rate for this activity is bargain basement low! Don't be fooled by the reasonable rates- this whale watching voyage could prove to be the adventure of a lifetime! I would reccomend this for familes with small children, business groups and seniors. We went out on the 12 pm boat and we had a blast.....the fish werent biting much but the crew did a great job and we all had fun. They tried several different spots to find fish but unfortunately it was a bit too windy so the fish were not easy to come by. Despite the lack of fish we had a great time out on the boat and I would definately do it again.

It was a wonderful afternoon...great fishing, great weather, reasonable cost.

We had a great time, and caught some fish. The crew was nice and helpful, very much appreciated. Only recommendations-bring your sunscreen, sweatshirt, and leave squeamish friends home.

Everything was great. boat was on time and the fishing was fun. The guys that operate the boat were really helpful. It was a fun day!

All in all it was a good trip but due to the lack of wildlife it made the trip a little dull. Fortunately the weather was good so it was just nice to look out at the sea and back at the shoreline. I would recommend to a friend.

This was my first experience ocean fishing, and it blew trout fishing out of the water! The captain knew just where to find the fish most of the time, and the barracuda meat is good for many meals!

Just hit a bad day, I guess. I usually have good luck with Dana Wharf Sportfishing, but this day was bad - only a couple of sculpin caught for the whole boat, and my group caught one small rockfish between the four of us. Frustrating morning all around.

Specially in California, nice sunny day on the oceanside will never forget. All the services by Zerve well scheduled on time and the narrator on the boat was excellent too. We had very good time and had fun. I will recommand if you stay one night in the resort by the sea that added great value for our trip. Thank you Zerve!!!
