Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

We really enjoyed this tour. Although we did not see any whales, we saw lots of dolphins. The crew was friendly and informative. Would highly recommend this tour to others.

We saw lots of dolphins, but no whales. however, at half price, and 78 degrees and sunny, what's not to like? We enjoyed it even if we didn't see whales!

We didn't see any whales but we did see two different dolphin pods (common and Rizzo). Staff were extremely knowledgable about marine life which made the trip very enjoyable and interesting. We ended up staying out nearly 30 minutes longer as we found the pod of Rizzo's later in the trip which was very much appreciated. Beautiful day to be out on the ocean!!!

Although we go "skunked" we did enjoy a nice trip out on the water.

..and dolphins! A great ride, the captain and crew were entertaining and very knowledgeable. Word to the motion-sickness prone: don't go down to the galley to sit. Stay up top, where you get plenty of air, and are up higher! Besides, you can see forever up top!

I would definitely go again.

We had a great time. While we didn't see any whales, we did get to see a pod of about 500 dolphins. The captain had to catch up to them, so our time on the water was a little longer than normal. The crew was polite, courteous and informative. I highly recommend this activity and will be back again with the grandkids.

We didn't get to see any whales on our trip, but the captain DID take us to a HUGE pod of dolphin - estimated about 1,000 - and made sure we had plenty of opportunities to see them. The tour guide was very informative, and everyone involved was very friendly. The cost can't be beat for the great time we had! We're planning on going again in late April.

i would do it again

My friends and I were VERY disappointed. We fished just off the beach from our condo and I have done better fishing in the small ponds where I live. We really should have been informed of just how bad the fishing was before we purchased tickets. Also noted that they kept very small fish in order to make days count look good. No fish over 18 inches were caught for anyone on our boat. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

Two gray whales and a pod of 1,000 common dolphin...even a few stay sea lions swimming with the pod. Outstanding wildlife viewing!!

It would have been preferable if there were places to sit. It was hard for us to stand for 5 hours.

We were originally scheduled to do our tour on Tuesday, when it was pouring sheets of rain, but rescheduled it for Thursday, the first clear day in a week. Unfortunately, the ocean still had lots of waves, and everyone's stomachs were pretty queasy. Two younger members of our party "lost their lunches." Of course, the crew was doing its best to make it a good ride, but it seemed their efforts were thwarted. We couldn't find the grey whale we were seeking. In the end, they were able to redeem the trip by spotting a large pod of common dolphins. By then, all of us were feeling better physically, too, and it was a delight to see hundreds of dolphins swimming right along with the boat. All's well that ends well!

Lots of dolphins...warm weather...informative. I'm a fisherman and have witnessed dolphin in the wild many times. But in this situation, spending time in the middle of the pod and watching them close up was fantastic and very relaxing.
