My 7 year old granddaughter said it was best week of her life (then she added - "in November') We saw thousands of dolphins. Very exciting - no whales but no complaints!

That's the gamble.

I am a leader of a youth group and we where in the process of biking down to Oceanside. I thought it would be fun to take them whale watching as a break from biking. It was very exciting when we left the harbor. Right away we saw bottle nose dolphins, but that is where the excitement ended until the very end. We came across a pod of Rizo dolphins. This was kind of cool, but not enough to change the attitude of the boys. They where really hoping to see a whale or two. I told them that it was at the end of the season and that 's the gamble you take. I would encourage others to take the same gamble, but do it earlier in the season. Thanks for the adventure.

No whales spotted, but offered free return

It's getting late in the season, so I didn't have my hopes up on spotting whales. It seemed the crew had that attitude as well. The weather was great, the catamaran handled the chop well and it was a good day on the ocean, even if we didn't spot anything. We'll be back to try again, thanks to the guarantee and free return offer.

Dolphin watching, not whale watching
Whale and Dolphin Watching Adventure Tour

The water was calm and we had a clear sky; the ride to the ocean was full of excitement and expectation to see whales up close and personal. Time passed by, we saw disturbance on the surface of the water and few fins peeked out, surely some playful dolphins surrounded our boat and started showing off their diving skills. After the dolphin encounter, both kids and adults were more eager to see whales. However, as the boat continued to ride along, no signs of any sea creatures appeared in our visual field. Although the captain announced possible activity under the water, the tour arrived back at the dock disappointed. Personally, I have seen dolphins swam next to the surfers at the Crystal Cove of Newport Beach, FOR FREE. I specifically purchased the tickets to see whales, but instead I settled for dolphins.

We were very fortunate to see two blue whales almost immediately after clearing the jetties. The captain tagged along with them for over an hour, allowing for many sitings. On the way back to the harbor, we came across some Risso's dolphins...a first for me. The crew did a wonderful job making sure everyone knew where to look and when as well as provide lots of interesting facts on what we were seeing. My grandchildren and I had a wonderful time.

These guys do know there stuff, as nature was tough to find but they tracked a blue whale and I was able to see the largest mammal with my girl. Then we saw 100's, yes hundreds of dolphins up close. What a way to spend 2 hours on the ocean.

I enjoyed the professionalism of the staff. The captain (driver) was very informative about the sea life and narrated this during our travel. There were numerous dolphins sitings...dolphins diving in sequence, often 3 to four at a time and as many as a group of about 10 or more. There were even baby dolphins. The dolphins came alongside the boat and even had fun chasing the boat as we sped off. It was charming and entertaining. I saw flying fish and toward the end a blue whale. What an amazing day.

Glimpses of a few fin whales

This was the 11:00 am whale watch on the Dana Pride, instead of the catamaran. We had brief glimpses of several fin whales. The watch was hampered by rain and windy weather. Overall, it was not a good whale watch.

Awesome Finback Whale Sightings!

This trip, our third in the past 2 years, was by far, the best one yet! We viewed a group of finback whales for an hour straight. At one point, there were whales on either side of the boat. My kids were in awe of the size, the blowhole spouting and the proximity of the whales to the boat. Your crew is the best and we will be back! Thanks!

Smooth Sailing

The ride was great. The fog was not their fault. Would recomend the Catamaran to anyone. The crew was very helpfull. I learned a lot about local sea life. I live in San Clemente and now ask my self why it took so long to discover how smooth a ride the Catamaran provides. No whales on this trip but plenty of other life forms. On deck and in the ocean.
