Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

Crew was great, if you don't want to touch the fish you never have to, there is always a crew member around to do everything for you. Good food too!

The caption and his crew were those kind of people who love doing their jobs. They were just as excited as we were to see the animals. I would do this again if it weren't for the fact I got seasick.

We saw tons of dolphins and two blue whales! It was a great time.

Larry and the other captain, sorry don't recall his name, were absolutely FANTASTIC!!! What a wonderful adventure! We saw whales, dolphins and sea lions. Great time!!

The crew was outstanding. Helpful, courteous and attentive. Even if I hadn't caught a thing, I would recommend this trip to anyone who wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable fishing trip.

We had a great time and were able to see up close and personal 100's of Dolphins. We also were able to see 3 blue whale although not as close as we would have hoped.

I was nervous going on the cruise in July when the whales aren't migrating, but we still saw 4 different whales several times and that was plenty to make me happy. We saw dolphins and seals too. Well worth the money, and if you have the time I would recommend going on the longer tour. The two hour tour went by really fast, but was still worth the trip down to Dana Point.

WE HAD A GOOD TIME. WISH WE CAUGHT MORE FISH. THE DECKHANDS WERE A GREAT HELP. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I CAN SAY IS THE TRIP ENDED EARLY. WE LEFT THE DOCK AT 12;45 PM AND BACK AT THE DOCK AT 5;00 PM. I THOUGHT THE TRIP WAS FROM 12;30 TO 5;45 PM. OTHERWISE IT WAS A FUN EXPERIENCE FOR MY SON. WE WILL PROBABLY GO AGAIN.

Saw many whales and the cruise is well worth your time.

What an amazing two hours. Nothing disappointing about it whatsoever. And Captain Larry is the best-knowledgeable, friendly, charismatic, and nice looking to boot!

Enjoyable day and company did their best to find the fish. Fish just did not bite today.

Lack of seating. The captain didn't rotate positions on the rail so we were stuck at the front of the boat for the entire trip. This was burdensom since the bait was in the back of the boat. This is my chief complaint about Dana Wharf, they don't see to it that the 'meek' get a fair share of fishing near the back of the boat. I've been out of Dana Wharf about 40 times and have only fished the back of the boat 6 times. The captains cater to regulars (intimidators) and don't see to it that "we" all paid money and would like the benefit of being near the bait and expanse of the rear of the boat. Never had that problem when I go to San Diego, it is worth it to me to make the hour drive

There is no place to sit on this boat, we will fish again but never on the Reel Fun..

I took my boyfriend out on this trip for his birthday. I've never been on a small boat before. I didn't know I would get so sea sick. However, even though I was dizzy for most of the trip, I don't blame it on the boat or the workers. Even though my head hurt for most of it, this trip was an awesome experience! Many of the reviews I read about this cruise said that they didn't see any whales. But we saw two huge blue whales! We saw a mom and a baby whale swimming next to each other! We even saw one of the whales FLUKE! We also saw a BUNCH of common dolphins! They played with our boat and swam with us. We even saw a tiny, baby dolphin! Seeing the magnificence of God's aquatic creations made the entire trip worth it, even though I got sick! There were only a handful of people on the boat, so it was very comfortable and friendly! I would recommend this to everyone. I would love to go on a trip like this again, but hopefully, I'll find a way to not get sick. :P
