Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching

Saw sea lions. Did not see anything else. gorgeous sunset view. Would maybe go earlier as we were cold. Web site said that if we did not get to see dolphins or whales, would get a $10 coupon for next trip. We were not offered that. Could tell the guys tried really hard to spot something. They said the whales were not seen in this area yet so wondered why this was advertised as a whale watching adventure. Felt somewhat misled on that. Overall good we went, saw the beautiful coastline and the sunset.

a great day had by us although did not see any whales did see plenty of dolph ins close up. crew very friendly a nice relaxing couple of hours.

The cruise was everything we had hoped for, except someone forgot to tell the whales of our rondavue point., HA! Never the less, it was very enjoyable, & relaxing. We intend to book another cruise on our next trip.

Was an enjoyable tour, had great weather,wasn't crowded, saw a lot of dolphins and sea lions but sadly no whales was still a fun afternoon...we will be back next year but earlier in the year..

Had a great time w/ my brother who enjoys fishing more than I. Great crew & alot of fun & caught a bunch of fish. Recommended!

I can't even say how amazing it was to see those beautiful creatures so close! From what I understand, we had a VERY good day... as we saw about 5 blue whales and a pod of dolphins... truly amazing! The guides/captains were really great and showed us all an unforgetable experience!

We saw one blue whale...way, way in the distance, and the crew tried really hard to "catch it" before it made a dive, but didn't succeed. We had a wonderful run with a huge pod of dolphins though...a great experience. The crew was very jovial and accommodating. I would recommend, even if you don't see a whale!!

We couldn't have picked a better day. The weather was beautiful and we saw all you can see on an outing like this. We actually saw a young blue whale (about 70' long) feeding in an area for about 1/2 hour. We even saw the fluke when he dove. Also saw seal lions, pelicans and various birds. One of the most exciting moments was the pod of dolphins (it looked like over 100) who were swimming and playing along with and around the catamaran. The staff was pleasant and very informative.

Loved this trip, even though it was only 2 hours. Saw blue whales, fin whales, dolphins, and some sea lions. Was a lot of fun, had beautiful views of the Pacific, was exciting to try to spot animals and then race the boat over to where they were, etc. We really enjoyed this trip, although one of us did get seasick so if you have someone with a sensistive stomach this might not be the best trip for them as the ship & speeds make for a choppy, rocking ride sometimes! Otherwise, good price, a lot of fun, and a unique experience!

This is one of the worst experiences that I had. The customer service received at this place was by far one of the most horrid situations. I got passed from person to person and each time had to retell a story and then got accused and blamed myself for a mistake on their end that they refused to acknowledge. The sad part is that I had proof in my hands, had an extensive call record with details, but there was still a lack of wanting to even look at this. Bringing a group of eager students from a university, this was an exciting trip and we had to buy tickets ahead of time. Because of mistakes on the company's end, we are now out several hundred dollars and they still refuse to acknowledge their mistake and work with us. Now I'm in the process of trying to work through legal means to get our money back and try to move on from one of the worst situations of customer service and organization that I have ever seen!!!

All three of us in my group had never been in a boat on the ocean before so we were concerned with getting motion sickness. I'm afraid of deep water and things popping up in the water. I'll tell you, we didn't even think about those things. The crew on the ship was pleasant and friendly, the trip itself was one of the most exciting things we'ver ever done as a family. We've talked about doing this for years, and years. It was absolutely wonderful!!! My 12 year old granddaughter was thrilled as was my son and I. We made some wonderful memories on this cruise. We saw several whales (2 different kinds) which was rare the Marine Biologist said. We were hoping to see dolphins but we were happy seeing so many whales. We'll be back on this ship in the future. I would highly recommend this organization and it's services.

We were 12 guys that booked the twilight fishing trip on October 24, 2009. The fish did not bite the way we wanted to, but the season was almost over. Some guys did catch quite a few. The jackpot went to the guy who caught a 2.5 pounder. The evening was really great. Great friends. Great weather. Great crew on Reel Fun. Brian did a fantastic job to untangle al the bird nests. Dan cooked great burgers and kept the beers cold. The captain stopped at three different places where he could see fish on the fish finder. Before we knew it, the 4 hours were over and we were back at the harbor. We would probably do a longer trip next time. But then again, it is always good to stop eating when you still want a little bit more. The 1/2 day is good for people that do not do too good on the ocean. We loved it. Will definately do it again. Will be great for older kids too - maybe when they are about 10.
