OK tour, not very informative. Dolphin time great
Sat, Aug 8  5:00 PM clotho Male 30-39 Combination Group of Friends
The tour was just "ok". It was non-informative and more of a "take you there and here it is" tour, especially considering its location next to the Ocean discovery. Of course, we didn't see any whales!! I understand it is a hit and miss, at Newport Beach whale watching they had whale sighting at the same day of 3 Whales. Their tour was not available due to a family death, so my visitors was only here for this weekend so our alternative was Dana point. Unfortunately, we were dissapointed. The time witht the dolphins was great, it was lengthy and abundace of them. It would be a so-so recommendation, an alternative to Newport Beach whale watching tour.

Well worth an afternoon

We enjoyed our 2 1/2-hour trip. We hoped to see a whale but couldn't find one--it apparently is not the prime season for that. However, we saw hundreds of dolphins, which was a new and exciting experience. There was plenty of room on the boat, and on weekends there is a marine biologist on board to assist in identification of species, to provide useful information and to answer questions. You should note that it's not a particularly smooth trip, though the back of the boat is a little smoother. My wife and I have been on a number of catamarans of this size when snorkeling in the Caribbean and have never gotten seasick. My wife was fairly seasick, as were some other passengers, and I was a bit queazy. Nothing a little Dramamine won't cure, so if you're not a veteran on the seas, take it before you go. It will make the trip more enjoyable and will ensure that you won't miss out on anything. Overall, well worth the time and a good value.

Truly exciting

While we were not lucky enough to actually see a whale on our tour, we did happen upon an amazingly large pod of dolphin and were able to photograph them as they played along side the boat. The Captain and crew were knowledgeable and entertaining, making the trip even more enjoyable.

Fun close to shore bottom fishing
Thu, Aug 6  5:30 PM selloutrr Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
the crew was friendly and more then willing to assist with any needs. I'm glad i chose a night trip mostly because of the number of people that can fit on a boat it can get very full, shoulder to shoulder full! the weather was a bit windy when i went causing the temp. to drop and the fish to not eat. I did catch one fish! But hey it's not called catching it's called fishing! i was just as happy to be out on the water watching the sun set and losing bait to a family of pesky seals. I would recommend going! The rates are very reasonable and it's fishing!

The day was very nice with a medium breeze that made it very comfortable. When we departed the seas were a bit choppy and as we went further out it became stronger. One of the children of a larger group was on the bow and threw up his breakfast. Bad enough but the crew after some time came forward briefly looked at it and then proceeded to throw a small bar towel over it . This did not cover the mess and for the next hour and a half everyone was forced to observe this and worse yet smell it. This ruined the entire cruise for many and made many of the passengers get very queezy. I would suggest that perhaps your company should invest in a bucket to clean up such accidents or at least inform your customers what they should do if they start to feel badly. This was absolutely the worst sailing experience I have had and I would not recommend your trip to anyone Ron and Doris Cormack

Using Zerve to book our fishing trip was easy and convenient. Location and parking was easily accessible. Received great service at check-in. The "Boat Crew" provided outstanding service. Cold beer and awesome cheese burgers, sun shining and catching fish, what more can a guy ask for?!

It was my fist ocean fishing trip with my son. I have been doing these trips for years but it was his first. The boat was at max capacity and this made for difficult conditions. The fishing was a little slow but we managed to haul in a few.

Fishing Capitan needs a course in Public Relation.
Tue, Aug 4  6:30 AM ajfontana Male 70+ Local Family With Children
A fishing Capitain that need a course in putlic relations and how to treat the public. For the half day price - the Capitain took us on a boat ride along the coast for about 25 minutes south never going greater than the deep of 30 to 35 feet. Stop and turn around and told every body to fish. After about 35 minutes with very few hook ups, He pull up anchor and went north for about 8 minutes. Two seals and 4 pelclins were with us and we were told to fish, for another 45 minutes to one hour, the result -very poor filshing. Everybody knows that with two seal around the boat, that the fish move out. The captain refused to rotate the position so everyone had a chance to fish from the back. We move for a third time up the coast toward the dock, another ten minute rideand stop to fish. Again the seals were with us at a depth of 30 feet. Made no effort or cared if he was providing service to his customers, just puting in his time be fore He would pick up the afternoon Suckers for another boat ride. I have deep sea fish in Souther California 50 years and this is the worst Fishing Captain I have ever fish with.

What a redeeming oceanic experience! I was hesitant at first because my wife and I got ripped off at the Long Beach Aquarium. Despite having 2 for 1 tickets, all we got to see were bus loads of school children, stroller brigades, and obnoxious parents. Gawd, I had obnoxious parents! This spur of the moment mid week pseudo date adventure extravaganza was worth it after 3/4 into the trip we found pods of dolphins (watching birds flocking for the anchovies being push up in the water). As we headed back to the shore, we FINALLY saw what we came / paid for, BLUE WHALES (AND ONE WITH A BABY). This is the kind of parent i actually enjoy seeing! Too bad, but my camera just died after getting a little bit of footage (. Anyhow, the captain and crew were cool, and the OCEAN ADVENTURES is NOT MONEY HUNGRY....THEY DON'T OVERCROWD THEIR BOATS! KUDOS TO A GREAT EVENING (5pm trip). EARLY DATE. AWESOME ADVENTURE.!!!
