| It was a great day. The crew was friendly and enthusiastic. The boat was clean. We saw a whale and followed it for about 35 minutes. Then took off and found a school of dolphins about 500-600 strong. The crew was very professional. My sister was in from Pennsylvania and enjoyed the cruise thoroughly. | ||||||

| Although my niece & I did not see any whales or dolphins (which is unusual), we did see sea lions, have a great boat ride, & witness stunning views of our local coastline. And in the end, because our excursion did not see whales or dolphins, we did receive free whale-watching tickets that don't expire & can be used anytime. | ||||||

Fulfilling and Rewarding Cruise for Whales

| Seas were slightly rough though the sun was shining brightly as my wife and her cousin (an L.A. resident) scanned the seas for marine life. We saw several gray whales blowing spouts and arching their backs out of the water near the cruise boat. On a couple occasions, we were able to clearly see the whales' blow holes and the barnacles, crustaceans, and other features of the whales' backs and skin. We also saw whale flukes on two occasions being raised from the sea surface just as or just before the whales dove into the sea. We also saw several dolphins arcing out of the water, three at a time swimming in unison and exposing themselves to our view off the side of the cruise boat. Our guides were quite knowledgeable about the whales and kept us informed about sightings and whale/dolphin locations relative to our boat's position. Our 7x birding binoculars were quite helpful in viewing the whales and dolphins as these mammals kept a bit of distance between themselves and our cruise boat. Our party of three (including my wife and I from out of state) felt this a rewarding and exciting experience, though it was a bit short (a little less than two hours all told considering maneuvering and docking the vessel, exiting and entering the harbor, etc.). My wife's cousin & L.A. resident is looking forward to returning in July for a cruise to view Great Blue Whales, which our guide informed us often frequent these waters at that time of year. | ||||||

| Combination of family from in state and Colorado, tour left on time and we were in the fishing boat. Partly due to the skill of the captain and partly due to the boat running on only one engine we were running slow and quiet enough to catch up with hundreds of dolphins and 6 grey whales. Skipper said it was the most amazing turnout he had ever seen. Everyone in our party agrees. | ||||||

| My husband and I had a fun time on our cruise. the captain took us and the rest of the crew out to where dolphins were feeding, there were alot of dolphins. It was alot of fun watching them swim and jump and cross paths with each other. It made for a very satisfied time. Great job!!!! Thank you so much. We intend to bring our granddaughters out on a whale watching cruise this summer. Hopefully we will see dolphins again in those numbers. (We did see whales too!! Very close up). | ||||||

| We didn't see whales on this trip but we saw a pod of dolphins that were very entertaining. I got a lot of good photos. The weather was perfect but DO follow the recommendations to wear several layers of clothing. It was cold enough to need two jackets and a hood but we were in our tee shirts later that day. Also, consider taking Dramamine before you go. The up and down of the boat is just enough to make you a little queasy. | ||||||

| This was an incredible trip. We ended up in the middle of a pod of dophins. They were playing with the boat we were on. Jumping out of the water and swimming all around us. Absoulutly glorious. The captain kept us out there as long as he could, it was great! The captain and crew were very informative and accomodating. I would highly recommend this trip. I know we will be going again. | ||||||

| I am the Administrator for the Copyright Society of the USA. We recently have a meeting at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott. I located your information from their website and looked in to booking the tour for the group. In the past, most of tour had consisted of 10-15 people. I ended up with about 52 people on the tour and we lucked out since our group was the only group they enjoyed them selves even more. They had a fantastic time. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The Group enjoyed it so much I went back myself the next day. | ||||||

| The trip was pretty much like I expected it to be. As an avid outdoorsman I know that wild animals don't travel by a set schedule and their actions can be un-predictable. I am sure many tourists expect to see about 100 whales per trip, all with their flukes about 15 feet out of the water for 10 seconds each so cameras can be focused. In a perfect world...right. We saw whales, the crew was pleasant...we had a good time. We got a few good photos....the price was right. All good stuff. Thanks | ||||||

| I’ve been whale watching before – sometimes with sightings while other times without - none of those excursions can compare to what my boy and I experienced this past Sunday afternoon. While we didn’t see any whales, we did found a pod of dolphins! While it is difficult to tell just how many were in the pod, it seemed as if there were one THOUSAND or more! In fact, we were surrounded, on all sides, by dolphins leaping out of the water, racing the boat, and just having a good ‘ole time as dolphins are want to do. This experience was one of the incredible I’ve ever had and, without question, something that I will remember for many, many years. | ||||||

| i was hoping to catch more fish on this trip. this being my first time for this trip, i realize that my inexperience may have had some part in my lack of great success. also, i know that there was limited time with only a five hour trip time . i really believe that those who frequent the ocean in boats probably know where to go for better success. i have an idea that our trip may have been made more successful with a bit more dedication to providing a successful fishing trip. not only i, but most others no board were only marginally succesful on this trip. i did have a nice trip, without rough waters, and the scenery along the coastline is a positive aspect . my daughter and son-in-law seemed to enjoy the trip. the crew seemed adequately trained and we were kept informed of the overall entent of the captain's course of action, when and where to drop our lines and the depth we were fishing. also helpful was the fact that the crew on board knwe the fish species and the regulations. i have limited knowledge regarding the local fish species, what is good to keep ( not that that affected my catch ) and the size limits for the lower ca. oceanic waters . | ||||||

| The trip started on time, the crew were friendly and helpful, the day was beautiful, seas were clam, and the food was good (thank heavens that we don't ever get sea sick). We didn't get to see any whales but it's only the beginning of one season and the ending of another, but the Captain found a large pod of dolphins and took us to the center and we got to enjoy their play (sometimes right under the bow of the ship)...what a wonderful experience. The Captain also educated us about what we encountered along the way. Thanks much. | ||||||
