| About the time we should have turned back to return to the harbor a whale was spotted! Thank goodness the pilot let us watch the whale for a while. He moved the boat closer and even phoned a marine biologist to check on the whale's behavior. We had a great time. | ||||||

Saw many dolphin and one huge whale

| We were asked to keep our eyes open and yell out if we saw anything. There were many "sharp eyes". We were then taken to the area, and spotted a large number of dolphins. The dolphins entertained us by jumping in and out of the water and swimming along the catamaran. After spending a generous amount of time watching the dolphins, we were taken further out. Someone yelled out "whale" and everyone got excited. We saw a lot of splashing off in the distance, so the skipper sped out there. While I know that there is a schedule to be maintained, the skipper of the boat gave us a good amount of time to observe the action of the whale, and talked to us about baleen whales (which is what we saw). Due to the distance he had to travel to see the whale and the time given to observe it's actions, we returned a few minutes late. It was appreciated that instead of being rigid to time constraints, he allowed us the opportunity to follow the whale for a while, instead of rushing back. | ||||||

| Weather was cool with a slite overcast, but burned off on the way home. The crowd had many school age kids for it was summer, but they were delightful. Boat was full, but we managed. Fishing started off very slow, then after many stops to find them biteing on our last stop on our way home. This made the whole trip worth wile. I'm going again soon. Tiny the Clown | ||||||

| Never go on "buy 1 get 1 free day" ! Too many ppl, can't even get a spot to fishing. Better go on some other days. | ||||||

| I have not gone fishing in ages, took my nephews, son and father (age 80) he and all of us had a ball! The staff was SO helpful and we definitely needed help!! The food was great and we felt that we been doing this for years!! We are already booking for Sept 2009 and it will be a BIGGER family affair!! it was worth every penny! Thanks for a Great Time and Great Fish!! Not a Mad Mom in a Minivan! | ||||||

| Entire trip went perfectly. Boat left on time and arrived (unfortunately) on time. We could have stayed out all day. Great deckhands and very helpful all the way around. Only one gripe is that the captain did not call for rotation as often as he should have. (Back of the boat ALWAYS catches the most fish) We started on the starboard bow and caught a few fish for the first few hours. At the last stop the Cpt. calls for rotation. We get to the back of the boat and we caught 14 fish in the last hour of fishing. Captains, either call rotation more often or don't park just the back of the boat over the reef! (Yes it makes a big difference) Fishing is like real estate, Location , Location Location. | ||||||

| We loved the whale watching cruise. We saw a huge pod of dolphins. They swam along side the boat for about 10 minutes. Then we saw an 80 foot blue whale. What a sight! The captain was great - gave us tons of educational information. The boat is sparkling clean. Couldn't have been happier. | ||||||

| The boat was perfect for small kids because they can stand or sit on the deck by themselves and see out through the sides. The boat was very nice, the captain was kind and knowledgeable. The trip exceeded our expectations in every way! | ||||||

| fun evening on the water -- while we didnt catch too many fish it was nice and the crew was very pleasant, fun and helpful. Do recommend bringing sweatshirts as it did get chilly but being on the ocean for the sunset was a nice additional benefit. | ||||||

| The tour was just "ok". It was non-informative and more of a "take you there and here it is" tour, especially considering its location next to the Ocean discovery. Of course, we didn't see any whales!! I understand it is a hit and miss, at Newport Beach whale watching they had whale sighting at the same day of 3 Whales. Their tour was not available due to a family death, so my visitors was only here for this weekend so our alternative was Dana point. Unfortunately, we were dissapointed. The time witht the dolphins was great, it was lengthy and abundace of them. It would be a so-so recommendation, an alternative to Newport Beach whale watching tour. | ||||||

| We enjoyed our 2 1/2-hour trip. We hoped to see a whale but couldn't find one--it apparently is not the prime season for that. However, we saw hundreds of dolphins, which was a new and exciting experience. There was plenty of room on the boat, and on weekends there is a marine biologist on board to assist in identification of species, to provide useful information and to answer questions. You should note that it's not a particularly smooth trip, though the back of the boat is a little smoother. My wife and I have been on a number of catamarans of this size when snorkeling in the Caribbean and have never gotten seasick. My wife was fairly seasick, as were some other passengers, and I was a bit queazy. Nothing a little Dramamine won't cure, so if you're not a veteran on the seas, take it before you go. It will make the trip more enjoyable and will ensure that you won't miss out on anything. Overall, well worth the time and a good value. | ||||||

| While we were not lucky enough to actually see a whale on our tour, we did happen upon an amazingly large pod of dolphin and were able to photograph them as they played along side the boat. The Captain and crew were knowledgeable and entertaining, making the trip even more enjoyable. | ||||||
