Captain Dees was great. We had a terrific day at sea. The sailing was great. We were chased by dolphins! The crew was knowlegeable and fun. The snorkeling was great and the kyaking was an adventure. Food and hospitality were outstanding. This is a must do if you are near Key West.

Knowledgeable staff about nature, very friendly. Gear was clean, good quality. Did NOT go to sand bar / beach as listed on the full day cruise itinerary.

The crew was dedicated to making this an interesting, informative, and fun trip- and it was! The lunch was excellent, the crew was hilarious and engaging, and the snorkeling/kayaking was great. Thanks Danger!

The trip was everything (and more) that we expected it would be. Captain Wade and mates, Christy and Don, were extremely attentive and informative. Food was great, and drinks were plentiful. We will definitely do this trip again!

We took part in the full day snorkel and kayak trip. We had such an amazing trip. We not only enjoyed the actual activities, but the crew was what made the trip. Dennis, Wendy, and Chris were knowledgeable about the wildlife and sea life. We enjoyed the crews personable styles and attentiveness. They were excited about every aspect of what they were showing and teaching us! We plan on returning and would choose the Danger ship again. Deb Lynskey-Lake

Great value!

I knew I was going to enjoy myself on this trip. What's not to love -- sailboat, kayaking and snorkeling. You can't go wrong! My friends were a little less enthusiastic prior to our departure, but that would soon change, because our day with Danger's Captain Dennis and John turned out to be so much more than we expected! Really, really great guys. They shared a lot of knowledge and were great hosts. The lunch they served was delicious and the beer was cold! Couldn't ask for anything more! This trip was a tremendous value for the price and I will definitely recommend it to anyone going down to Key West. Thanks guys for a great day!

Don't forget to bring tip
Sun, Apr 19  10:00 AM jlargent Female 20-29 Local Group of Friends
I thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Sarah was absolutely wonderful and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about everything we were doing. However, I didn't know that tipping was accepted and didn't bring a whole lot of money with me on the boat (since I was going to be boating all day!) I would have prefered to tip her more than I did but I didn't come prepared. So please remember to bring along some money for the tip, I definately think they will earn it! Julie

Okay food, nice crew, weak watersports

We took the "full day snorkeling and kayaking" Danger Charters out of Key West in March, 2009. The weather was slightly overcast and breezy. Captain "D" had the helm and Christian and "Sunshine" crewed. We are regular but not "hardcore" kayakers. Neither of us had snorkeled since childhood. We didn't expect any huge physical challenge, but thought from the promotional materials that the snorkeling and kayaking would be more than symbolic. First, the positives: Christian and Sunshine were friendly and fun, the boat was clean and functioned well, and the beverages and snacks flowed freely, although the food was not nearly as fancy as described in the promotional materials. So-so lunchmeat, Tostitos, some questionable dip. Many chose the peanut butter and jelly instead. Worse though, the snorkeling was basically worthless, and the kayaking was not much better. Breezy (although in no way severe) weather had reduced visibility and created an uncomfortable "chop." While the weather was not Danger's fault, Captain "D" was more petulant than apologetic about the conditions: "Well, this is it. Do it or don't. The sooner you're done, the sooner you can drink." There was nothing to look at but a few small fish and a starfish, barely visible in the murk. Danger should take a cue from Pennekamp and other reputable tour operations and cancel or offer partial refunds if the weather won't permit good snorkeling, instead of throwing up their hands and taking your money anyway. Similarly, due to the chop, the captain opted for a basic jaunt to and from a small mangrove key, rather than boating through the channels of Man Key as we were told they normally did. It was much better than the snorkeling, but still very insubstantial -- perhaps 45 minutes of paddling and sitting at the island. I question whether this dumbing down of the kayak trip was necessary, as conditions were quite a bit calmer by that time of day. This was somewhat offset by a good basic informational talk the crew gave about the mangroves. But again, Danger should cancel, or offer a reduction to the half-day trip (and price) if the weather will not allow the scheduled activities. It also would have been nice if the captain had given more passengers a chance to work with the sailboat, which was part of the appeal taking a sailing vessel. He picked one man he seemed to favor and only let him participate in the sailing. Captain D also drank during most of the sail, and while it did not visibly impair his ability, it was unprofessional. The bottom line is that this is a day sail with drinks and snacks, with the option of some marginal snorkeling and kayaking. It's "rain or shine," no refunds, and if the sporting activities are not viable, it will be your loss, not Danger's. I would recommend anyone interested in even semi-serious snorkeling or kayaking to seek out a company willing to cancel if the weather dictates, which can be done for far less than $100 per person.

Fantastic day of activities

The sailboat "Danger Prize" was equipped and ready for a sail such as this with a knowledgable captain and crew. While under sail to our snorkel destination, the mate explained the charts, location, birds and fish we would see. Snorkel equip. and wetsuits were ready and we were in the water in no time. Lunch was plentiful and really hit the spot after snorkeling. Out came the kayaks and our guide/crew "Wendy" lead the kayak adventure spotting and identifying turtles, stingrays, baracudas and osprey nests. Snacks and beverages again provided. Sailing was great and we were offered the opportunity to take our turn at the helm. I have taken trips like this at other vacation destinations but this outfit goes above and behind to see that their passengers have a full day of fun. The 3 of us wanted to remember this trip that much that we bought shirts with the Danger boat on them.

Top notch all the way

Great fun for anyone who loves water, sun and nature. The crew are all outstanding folks. Some advice: Pace yourself on the alcohol. Although you may be able to handle your booze normally, being in the sun all day and getting dehydrated gives it a more potent impact on your body. Don't roll your eyes at me, this is experience speaking. Drink plenty of water and take it easy, otherwise you might end up getting hauled back to your hotel in a dock cart (if you can fit). Not to mention you will live on for years to come in crew legend. :) P.S. Would love for there to be a snorkeling cruise around the coral reef.
