| This was a great way to spend 4 1/2 hours in Key West! We enjoyed the sail, kayaking and snorkeling. The drinks and snacks were a nice complement. More importantly, our captain and guide were very knowlegeable, competent and personable. We'd do it again! |

| Our group sailed on an authentically reproduced Skipjack shallow-draft sloop, first to some interesting kayaking around a mangrove island and then to skin-diving among huge sponges. Our kayak guide, Ben, spotted a stingray stirring up the bottom, and we paddled to within a few feet of a three-foot-wide specimen, giving us a good look. There were plenty of fish in the snorkeling area, along with a moray eel, spiny lobster and large pink conch. My five-year-old daughter was fascinated when the lobster was netted and brought on deck by Tony, a crewman who swam with us, alerting us to special sights. I enjoyed the trip immensely for the snacks, refreshments, and packing so much fun into a few hours. Do it, if you can! |

| Danger Charter’s half day snorkel and kayak adventure was scaled back slightly due to cool weather and extremely high winds. The very able staff didn’t let that bother them and made sure we had a good time. The kayaking was kept to the leeward of a mangrove island and the snorkeling was only attempted by half the people. With the chill we were feeling, we didn’t want to add wet to it, so we opted to stay on board. Again, drinks and munchies were offered up. Thanks to the crew for the great job! We would definitely go with Danger again. |

| We really liked this excursion, it was great for all ages. The staff really makes you feel comfortable at all times. The staff was the biggest plus on this trip along with the boat. It was rather windy the day we sailed and we couldn't go to the reefs so I felt that where we snorkeled left something to be desired. Overall, a great experience for our group! Next time we would probably do the all day sail! |

| We had a great time on this outing. Although the day was unfortunately windy and cool (which lead to most people forgoing the snorkeling), the sailing was superb. The staff was friendly and engaging. Would definitely recommend this! |

| This was a great tour of a few of the best things Key West has to offer. We went sailing for about 45 minutes out to a little mangrove island west of Key West while the crew of Keith, Tony, and Ron explained a little bit of the history of the area and showed us where we were going and what would be there.
Their focus was a lot about ecology and preserving the ecosystem for the animals. They served fresh fruit as we sailed and the crew was very friendly and chatted with the visitors as they explained the history and environment of the area.
My boyfriend and I who had never kayaked found it easy after a few minutes of practice. We paddled around Mule Key, which is really just a bunch of mangroves as Tony explained to us how keys are formed, what birds we were seeing, the history of the name Mule Key, etc. We even saw a nurse shark!
After leaving there, we motored a bit away to a natural sponge habitat where we snorkeled for some time. We saw a moray eel, a sting ray, and some lobsters. The fish in this area were somewhat boring to look at, but that day was windy and the crew informed us that snorkeling on the reef that day would be darn near impossible due to 2-3 foot chop. Tony snorkeled out with us and pointed out some of the more interesting things to see, such as the eel. On our way back (4 and a half hours later) they got out some chips and salsa which everyone scarfed down. They also served beer and wine although I did not partake.
In all, this would be a great trip for anyone from a family to a couple to a single person. Even if you are older, there is not much activity involved other than the snorkeling, which you can go at your own pace! The crew especially made you feel like you were one of them. Never treating you like you were "tourists." |

| Great experience, even in less than perfect weather conditions.
Pros: Small group, hands on sailing, snorkeling and kayaking, friendly and knowledgeable crew who did their best to make everyone comfortable and happy, convenient marina location, relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: Few amenities on boat (but did not negatively affect trip).
Half day trip is perfect for families with varied skills/interest in snorkeling and kayaking, as neither takes up too much time or effort so as to become boring or tiring. Trip to/from the spot is easy and fun. We were there at very low tide and thus could not kayak into the inner parts of the mangrove island where the cool stuff is. Very windy too which made the kayaking a bit more strenous than it might otherwise be. No problem for two of my party who had never kayaked before though.
Bring your own drinks if you are fussy as the selection on board was very slim.
Can't say enough about captain (Haig) and crew (Megan and Ben) who not only were knowledgeable and instructive, but fun and genuinely interested in making sure everyone had as good an experience as possible.
We would book again next trip. |
