Breathtaking and Amazing Experience
Sat, May 2  9:30 AM kabe126 Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Being a frequent traveler and a south florida native I am no stranger to beautiful breathtaking surroundings, and throughout my life I have spent a great amount of time on beaches and cruising the waters in our own boat. However, I have never been so happy with a "tour" as I was on Saturday May 2, 2009 for the Danger half day snorkel and kayak sail. There was a perfect amount of sailers which was about 8 people including myself and my boyfriend. (watching the other boats load their travelers as if they were cattle at the docks, we were very happy to be on a private yet perfect tour) The crew that day was amazing!! They were well educated on the surroundings and always took the time to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. They chopped up fresh fruit (with gloves on) and served us refreshments in the morning, and followed with chips and salsa and hummus and more refreshments in the afternoon. We went to a "NONCOMMERCIAL" island and kayaked the awesome waters with a detailed and fun tour guide leading us. We saw sharks, sting ray, bald eagle, birds, and much more. Following the kayaking we went snorkeling. With clean sanitized gear and all of the appropriate dirrections to keep us safe, we had an amazing time. We saw lobster, squid, beatiful fish, and colorful corals. What an awesome trip. The only thing my boyfriend and I regretted was not taking the longer trip, as when it was time to go back we were craving more. Thanks to the crew especially who were all professional, informative, and FUN!! Kristen Miami, Fl

Good time with plenty of happy local tour guides

These guys really enjoy what they're doing and go out of their way to add lots of little things to the cruise. We ended up coming back near sunset and while all of the other cruise boats seemed to be lining up to go back in we ended up staying out and catching the sunset from the boat. It was a great time.

Soldier on leave from Baghdad

Having been deployed for over 6 months, I was required to take a two week leave. I chose to go to Key West because it was close to home (Sarasota, FL) and it's the coolest, most relaxing place I could think of going to totally destress from the war zone. In a word, perfect. Plus it was a birthday gift to myself. Haig and his crew were the coolest guides/hosts of an interesting sailboat. At first, everyone on board was apprehensive. By the end, everyone was socializing with everyone on the salboat having perfect island snacks and beer/wine. The trip started out under power to get everyone comfortable for those that had never sailed. For others, it was an interesting peek at a very cool marina. Then, we hoisted the sails and headed out for the adventure. We were all warned that it might get a little choppy as the winds were 20 knots. Actually, that made for just the right amount of rock to the boat for actual sailing. Though a little choppy for snorkeling, most everyone ventured into the tad chilly waters on April 24th and experienced an interesting snorkel experience while the ones that stayed back enjoyed hanging out with the Captain (Haig), listening to cool island music while eating almost all the chips and salsa and enjoying beers/wine until the aventurous ones returned. About 45 minutes was all it took, but that was about perfect for me as a beer sounded too good. We then headed to the mangroves for a good workout in the kayaks as the winds provided enough of a workout to not get exhausted for experienced ones but probably frustrated the others. However, they all did a great job as we learned things I hadn't even heard growing up in Florida or in college. We headed back, packed up the boats and enjoyed more snacks (the best hummus and black bean dip I've had in a while!) and several more beers to get in the mood for the celebration that is every sun set in the Keys. Except we were the smart ones the were on the water while Mallory Square was packed to the hilt with partiers from the Conch Republic taking back the island. It was realy cool to see all that from the water instead of in the insane crowds. To each his own I guess. The Danger trip was the beginning of the best vacation I had ever experienced in my life. It also provided great memories that I will remember when I head back to Baghdad May 3rd. Haig, Megan (sp) and I can't remember your name dude, (sorry), were friendly, educational, gratious hosts to everyone. Thanks to all of you for making it a great, unstressful experience. Would definitely recommend this trip for those that need a little adventure but to make the choice to participate as much or little as they chose. Thank you!

Great crew, nice trip

The boat was beautiful, the crew was very friendly (Capt. Haig, Brian, Heather). Not everyone in our group wanted to snorkle or kayak, which was fine. We went on a half-day afternoon trip, which was nice, but passengers should be reminded to bring towels (not provided) and jackets for the return trip -- as it got darker and we were all wet, we got cold. Reviews I had read really praised the food, which was just okay. Also, I would recommend checking the tide reports before booking -- we went at extreme low tide and couldn't kayak through the mangroves (no fault of Danger Charters.)

Great crew. Great sailboat. Great snorkeling. Great kayaking. Gorgeous sunset ride home with wine and fruit. The high point of our trip to Key West. Great value.

We had such a wonderful experience with Cory, Chris, and Wendy. They were extremely knowledgeable and friendly throughout the entire trip. Every accommodation necessary was made for my 6 year old and 8 year old to make the trip a delight for all. Both kids learned to snorkel quickly under the guidance of this crew and we all were amazed by the undersea life within the sponge gardens. While kayaking we saw plenty of wildlife, both under water and within the mangrove island. I strongly recommend booking a trip with Danger.

Well worth it!

This trip was an excellent introduction to snorkeling for our kids, aged 6,9, and 12. The crew of Cory, Chris and Wendy was wonderful, and they let our kids help sail in addition to providing a lot of great information about the area in which we were sailing. Chris took our group on a sea kayak exploration of a mangrove island which allowed us to see some fascinating wildlife up REALLY close. We got some incredible photos. I would highly recommend if you like to do things on the water, and I wouldn't hesitate to go again, hopefully next time for a full day or for the wine sail when our kids are older.

Great Day

The onboard staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and positive. Our boys (8 and 10) had a great time kayaking and snorkeling for the 1st time. We saw plenty of marine species such as a horshoe crab, bottlenose dolphin (pod of 8) , sea rays, small sharks, lobster, and of course, fish. Would recommend the trip to anyone. I was skeptical of all the positive on-line comments I found before booking the trip but they proved to be true. Much better value than the cheaper mass tourists trips. I knew we made the right choice when we sailed by the other snorkeling trips boats with 60+ people on it and we had about 16 comfortably onboard. It's a no brainer.

The Grand Finale of our Trip
Mon, Apr 13  3:30 PM mrjames Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We absolutely enjoyed the Danger, it was and event of a lifetime for my family and me. I love the intimate feel of the small group of passengers and the constant flow of beverages. The crew was great! Their detailed knowledge of the environment (ecosystem) added additional value to the activities, I felt safe and well informed. I love the personal attention given to each passenger by the crew (especially to the children). It was a very laid back and a wonderful experience.
