Snorkel, Kayak & Sail - Danger's Key West 1/2-Day

This was a great trip. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, the crew made us feel welcome and safe. It was a beautiful day, with very little wind. We didn't get to really "sail" because of the calm air, but that's ok. I am a self-proclaimed "chicken of the sea," so I really appreciated the time and attention the crew gave to snorkel prep. Two of the crew were in the water with us, pointing out sights and taking pictures. The crew were very knowledgeable on the flora, fauna and history of the area.

I was invited by friends to join them on this adventure. I had been on sailboats out of Key West before but had always stayed on the boat and watched without getting in the water. This time my friends convinced me to try the kayaking (although I did not agree to try the snorkeling as I am not a swimmer and that did not interest me). They told me they enjoyed the kayaking much more than the snorkeling. I am glad I tried the kayaking. The crew was great, and we had good weather and a very pleasant view of the sun setting on the gulf. I would do this again.

This was our second trip with Danger. Capt. Brian was excellent. The crew (Jen, Kara and Victor) were awesome. You will learn a lot about the Keys, the history, eco system, wildlife. They are attentive to beginners, safety is important to them. We have been going to KW for 20 years, gone on many other charters from the big cattle calls to small ones like Danger, but we'll keep going back to Danger! I hope I got the names of the crew members correct!

We had a great trip. The crew was very informative and helpful with suggestions on geting the most out of the experience. They guided us in the snorkeling part to see a great variety of fish that we might not have discovered on our own. Well worth the price. Would recommend it to others visiting the area

This is a great little tour with a limited number of people run by people who really know the area and enjoy their jobs. It seemed like the other tours in Key West were all on giant 150+ passenger catamarans - this is on a small sailboat with ~12 passengers and 4 crew. They also serve beer and wine!

Bosco, Evan and Billy were extremely informative, attentive, and all around the trip was wonderful. Would highly recommend this. I am prone to seasickness, but this was sooo calm.

don't expect color when snorkeling but you will be away from the cruise ship rate race which is ideal. Guides are awesome and do help you spot things you would miss when kayaking and snorkling

We enjoyed the sail along with the kayaking Eco tour/backcountry...but, honestly the snorkeling was not much to write home about. Lacking much color at all and diversity in wildlife. I'd go again but without the snorkel.

The crew was great, as was the boat we sailed on. That's where "Great" ends. The picture on the front page of this review, is of a lush and vibrant coral reef, and that's what one expects when planning this trip. Reality is only shared by the crew, once the anchor has been dropped on location. Fact is, it is a barren, grassy, sponge field, and sea life worth viewing is scarce (really saw nothing but an 8 inch Ray). Face it folks, NOBODY willingly signs up to snorkel in that. I've dived and snorkeled all over the world, and that was the most pathetic and uninteresting, colorless experince I've ever seen. The kayak trip around the closest little Mangrove island revealed a Southern Ray, and a Bonnet head Shark. I'm an AVID bird watcher, and to visit a Commorant rookerie with a few Cattle Egret hanging around was a total bore. About equal to going on a birdwatching tour in a National Park to see Starlings breeding. I realize the location out there is cheap and convenient for Danger operators, but it leaves the guest with NOTHING to share pictures about, or share with any excitement, with fmaily or friends. If you advertised it for what it was, you'd only hear crickets at your kiosk, and you'd soon have to find a legit destination, and up your cost. I'd rather pay more and get something worthwhile, than pay cheap and get nothing for it. I will not recommend the trip to anyone I know visiting KW. Again, crew was great; nice folks. They're selling what they're given, and trying to pay their bills. For Pete's sake, give them something to fell good about sharing.
