Sunset Sail Key West-Danger Charter's Wind & Wine

Trish and I had a fantastic time, even though it was unseasonably chilly. Good wine, good cheese, salty wind, the open sea and some great company. What a blast! We loved every second of it. No dolphin sightings, but the blue-green phosphorescence in our bow wave was fascinating to watch at dusk.

My husband and I have been to Key West several times but this was a first for us and we loved it. I am currently pregnant. There were plenty of non alcoholic beverages in addition to all of the wine and beer. In addition there were plenty of yummy appetizers passed around. Veggies along with cheese and crackers. The sunset was beautiful. The crew members were great. They were very attentive with making sure we always had something to drink along with bringing the appetizers around for us to sample. We will probably do it again the next time we are in Key West.

My husband and I took the sunset sail on 2/21/10...in the rain..with NO sunset....and... had a great time!!! Captain Dee's and his crew were awesome! They were very attentive and knowledgeable. Also, the selection of wine was excellent. Wonderful evening!

Our sunset sail took off in moderate showers, which never let up and so eliminated the "sunset" part of the sail. Nevertheless, we had a pleasant sail. The crew was enthusiastic and friendly, as well as informative. The other couples were interesting and it was good to be on the water. We enjoyed the wine and accompanying snacks--the wine was plentiful and I am confident that on a dry night with a true sunset the experience would have been magnificent. As it is, we had a good time and would recommend this cruise.

I was dissapointed with the wine selection and they were very chintzy with the hordoerves They did not do a good job of serving us. I had to walk across the boat to be assured that we got some of each bottle of wine. There was a tray of vegetables that was passed around only once and was then placed on a bulkhead. They had announced at the beginning of the cruise that we were to let them serve us but it became apparent after a while that if you wanted something from the food trays you would have to get up and go to the tray.

This was our second time taking the Wind and Wine Sunset Cruise. It is a highlight of our trip and we will go again next year. The crew (Brian, Austin and Don) is first rate and the wines (and beer too!) are fantastic. They also service a variety of appetizers, cheeses and desserts....all are very good. We love Danger Charters so much that we also took their half day sail/kayak/snorkel/sunset trip two days later, Our crew, Wade and Christian were fantastic! It was cold and windy but we and one other couple braved the weather and they were happy to take us out! Christian was a wonderful guide....showing us a navigational chart and explaining how to keep from going aground. He also took us kayaking in the mangroves and was very knowledgeable about all things marine! We got to hold a horseshoe crab and saw a small shark and lots of birds. We opted out of the snorkelling because of the rough water...but that just meant we started the wine sooner!! We would highly recommend this cruise if you have children. The wind and wine is for grown ups only!

The crew was fantastic. In addition to the various wines, assorted beers and sodas were available. The snacks were much appreciated. The length and timing of the charter was perfect in that it included daylight, sunset, and post-sunset views of the land, sea, and sky. I look forward to sailing with Danger Charters in the future!

This was the best money we spent in Key West. The staff was excellent... very entertaining and friendly... the wine selection was pretty good (there were some that went over the side), but they were happy to give you as much of the ones you liked as you wanted. That was the best part actually... it wasn't just a wine tasting where you get a sample and a cracker, it was more of a sunset cruise with a pre paid wine bar. The only minor flaw was the cheese selection... none of them really hit my palate, but the dinner reservations we had for post cruise took care of that. made that a non issue.

The Wind and Wine cruise was excellent and is a must if you are visiting the Keys. The Danger crew were so hospitable and took excellent care of us. They gave us many wines, beers (as well as non-alcoholic drinks available) to choose from. They also kept the snacks coming therefore, we were never thirsty or hungry. The sailing and sunset were just icing on the cake. Don't miss this trip!!!
