A great escape from the noise of Key West

| What could be bad about a sunny day sailing on the ocean? It is a great escape from Key West madness. The young sailor-guides, who attended to the cruise, were a bit cocky, but very attentive and enthusiastic trying to reach out and engage all the participants. They gave special attention to those who were new to kayaking and snorkeling, alerted us to the wildlife, and made sure we had plenty to eat and drink! The snorkeling was a bit disappointing- I guess I was expecting a coral reef, which it was not. There are no coral reefs in this area. So the sealife is not quite as abundant and colorful. We kayaked around a small mangrove covered island, but ran out of time and could not loaf when we reached the beach. Due to the distance to be covered and the time constraints, the boat used a power motor in addition to sails, but it was still much quieter than a regular power boat. All in all it was a nice way to spend the day off the island and a good value with hyper-attentive sailor-guides. | ||||||

| Being on the sea and sailing literally brought tears to my eyes I was so happy to be there. My crew, Windy and Dennis we were warm and welcoming, knowledgeable, informative, and very fun to be with. The kayaking experience was one I will never forget. I would do this every day if I could! | ||||||

| The crew was wonderful, the sailboat was beautiful, and the sunset breathtaking. It was a small group of passengers, about 20, and we were all very well attended by the crew. They were friendly, personable, and it was obvious that they enjoy their job-- but who wouldn't-- sailing the sunsets in beautiful Key West! | ||||||

| Dennis (captain) and Wendy (mate) were very cool. They made us feel at home and were very knowledgable about the ocean reef. They have a smaller boat that can get to the more wild side of the reef, so you enjoy uncommercialized snorkeling and kayaking. We also took a trip with another company that was fun, but the Danger experience was way more personal. It was so relaxing and fun. If we ever get to go back, we will be going with Danger! | ||||||

| This half day on the Danger was a memorable experience. First off, you're trip takes place on a sail boat and not a catamaran. The combination of snorkeling and kayaking makes the trip most interesting and enjoyable. The two people that directed our trip were very friendly as well as knowledgeable. We would certainly take this trip again! | ||||||

| There are many different charter groups to choose from when visiting Key West, but I guarantee you won't find one better than Danger's Key West Full Day! The morning started off with a quick orientation of the amazing 65' sail boat, and before we knew it, we were under way. Captain Dees and his cohort in crime, Sean, were extremely welcoming and made the nine of us feel right at home. The boat was both spacious and comfortable, and the sail out to the snorkeling spot was simply amazing. Captain Dees and Sean proved to be extremely knowledgeable as they gave us a great overview of the surrounding area. Before we knew it, we were all thrown overboard with snorkels and fins with the instructions to find as many fish as possible. After an excellent swim in the gorgeous warm waters of Key West, we were reeled in and served a fantastic lunch. I had the PB&J, while my wife had a ham & cheese and lots of white wine! As we ate, Captain Dees sailed on and stopped at the most amazing, secluded kayaking spot. Sean led the nine of us through the back country of mangroves and gave us a ton of interesting info on the area. We stopped at a little beach that few have ever seen, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Along the way, we saw several small sharks and tons of other interesting wildlife. Since I don't want to bore readers with the rambling memories of my fabulous trip, I will close by saying that you simply must take a Danger Cruise. Moreover, I highly recommend that you ask for Captain Dees and Sean. They were great fun and both my wife and I look forward to sailing with them again in the not so distant future. | ||||||

| The crew was amazing! We had a lot of fun! I recommand this tour to everyone! The little extras are really appreciated (beer, wine, fruit, water, sodas, nachos and sunscreen). Really reasonable rate for what you get! | ||||||

| Tony, Chris and Billy made a potentially dismal experience a great time. The weather was cold and windy - not exactly perfect snorkel and kayak conditions. The crew and boat were top notch. Chris' lesson on reggae dancing was interesting to say the least. All in all an unforgettable experience. We're gonna do it again. | ||||||

| We had a wonderful time. Weather was bad, didn't get to see the sunset, but the crew and other passengers more than made up for it. Looking forward to coming back and going out again. | ||||||

| What started out as an absolutely beautiful morning with my fiancee and I getting married on the beach, ended with a very breezy and overcast sunset. A cold front had moved through the Keys about two hours prior to our departure on the Wind and Wine Sunset Sail and the cloud cover totally obscured the sun. No fault of their own, we realized that the crew could not control the weather; however, they more than made up for the lack of transition to evening, then night as they skillfully manuvered the sailboat along the South shore of the island. The crew was very fun, kind, courteous, and knowledgeable about sailing and the wine they were serving. They absolutely made the best of a less than ideal situation. We would suggest that unless you are planning on being in Key West during a very busy period, say during Fantasy Fest, or some other big-crowd event, to hold off purchasing your tickets until the day of the cruise. There were only 20 people aboard our float, so it was hardly sold out, and with their no refund policy (only a reschedule for very bad weather) save your money and take a chance on purchasing your seats to get aboard the day of, when you know you'll be able to enjoy the sunset, especially if you are going to be there over several days. Be prepared. Although the website says tips are not required, but appreciated, they are more or less expected and asked for prior to your departure from the boat. We tipped $25 to the crew of three, which we thought was fair. So, in addition to your ticket price and taxes, figure in the gratuity. All-in-all, the expereince was good, but could have been a whole lot better had the weather cooperated. | ||||||

| Exactly what we were looking for. We didn't want the huge touristy-type vessel with clownish acting crew. Skipjack was the perfect vessel for accommodating a relatively small (14 guests+3 crew) group. Crew were friendly, professional, engaging and very knowledgeable. Just enough time for each activity- any longer (for us) would have been too much sun and heat. Billy, John & Brian - thanks for a memorable sail ! Sara & Jim from MD | ||||||

| Took the 1/2 day sail, snorkel, kayak trip that departed in the afternoon and it was excellent. Wade, Christian and Sara were all very friendly, knowledgeable and understanding, making my first snorkeling/kayaking experience wonderful. The size of the group (15) allowed the crew to spend time with the novices. The afternoon trip is perfect, allowing you to watch the sunset from the boat. This is a trip I would take again. | ||||||

| My boyfriend and I have travelled all over the world. He has been to Key West several times on family trips and this was our first time to Key West on a romantic get away. We took the Danger Wind and Wine cruise and loved it!!! The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable and polite. There was at least 10 different wines to taste along with beer for non wine drinkers and non alcoholic beverages. The appetizers hit the spot with a verity of cheeses, crackers and fruit. There was more the enough to go around becase they do not over crowd the boat. They also paid special attention to the all too famous Key West sunset. At one point a faster more crowded boat went flying by it was going so fast you couldn't tell if they enjoyed their sunset as much as we did ours. I guessing not. I highly recommend taking this cruise. | ||||||

| I'm an open water scuba diver and my wife never gets her hair wet, so to say that this was a major sales job on my part would be under stating the facts. We have visited Key West several times in the past, but never took the time to venture out to enjoy the local waters. However, on this trip our best friends decided to come along and we all voted to check things out. From the minute we met the Danger Charters guides, Meegan & Hague, we all felt like we had known them for years. Being around Meegan all day makes you feel like you just earned a PHD in all things fins & feathers. Hague is a first class Capitan and tour guide always mindful of your safety, which allowed everyone on board to relax and have a great day at sea. Another huge plus was the fact there were only two other couples on our boat making it a total of 8 guests. The other charters we saw throughout the day looked like floating goat rodeos! First time in the water or experienced driver, you will have a blast! We saw four turtles, six sharks, 30+ lobsters, 3 million fish, an eel, and countless other ocean critters. The kayak trip was just as fun as the snorkle trip. Do the full day trip or you will be kicking yourself in the butt!!! The food, beer & wine were all top shelf, I know, I was shocked also. I was expecting Hot Pockets, Milwaukee's Best and a jug of Gallo, not a huge selection of Boar's Head meats - cheeses - dip - freash cut fruit, Amstel Light - Yuengling - Corona, & several great red & white wines (according to everyone else on the boat). On the way back in we spotted a dolphin, but rather than making a b-line to shore, Meegan & Hague plotted a course for us to watch him/her up close. At the end of the day, Duval St. was still there waiting for us. However, everything else we experienced on our trip seemed superficial compared to the natural wonders we were able to enjoy. Go, get wet, learn, take lots of pictures, enjoy the food & beverage, and for goodness sake tip those guys well (20+%). HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! | ||||||
