We enjoyed our trip immensely. We recently moved to Fountain Hills and were entertaining family from Kansas - grandparents (ages 62 & 68) and an uncle (age 35). We have two young sons (ages 2 & 4). We took the cruise on Dec. 26 and everyone had a delightful time. My brother (a H.S. teacher) enjoyed hearing the geography & geology information from the guide. My Mom enjoyed the scenic photography opportunities. I liked that we could bring our own (healthy!) food aboard and didn't have to purchase overpriced junk food. Was also pleased that beverages (including water) were offered at a reasonable rate. And our kids loved the freedom to move around a bit on the boat. It was a very pleasurable way to spend an afternoon with our family! I've already recommended it to others. |

This was our second boat cruise at Saguaro Lake. Our group ranged from age 7 to 88 and everyone had a good time - the beautiful day and scenery enjoyed by all the day after Christmas! We saw bald eagles, many herons both blue and white, and a variety of other birds and plants. We took a picnic lunch aboard (you may bring food and drinks) and took a lot of gorgeous photos. A relaxing 1.5 hours aboard the Desert Belle, the Captain was knowledgeable and entertaining - yet allowed for reflective time to enjoy the quiet outside of Phoenix. Highly recommended! |

My family enjoyed our tour on the Desert Belle. We learned a few things about the area through the Captains narration. It's a nice family activity that is affordable. Thank you. |

I'm here on a temporary job assignment from NJ, by way of NC. As a child, my family lived in El Paso and Las Cruces, so the western terrain was no big surprise for me but I so I was thrilled when my daughter, a nurse, who still lives in NC came to visit for a couple of days. She had never been west of the Mississippi River. Since we both enjoy being outside and the weather seems to be beautiful here most of the time, when we saw the Desert Belle Paddleboat cruise advertised, we knew it was something we had to do. The weather that day was perfect. The sky was "Carolina Blue" with a few lofty clouds. Captain Forsberg was a delight, professional and entertaining. He pointed out wildlife and plants as we glided through the canyon walls. He directed our attention to several eagles perched on the walls of the canyon and Blue herons and their nesting areas. He identified and described the water fowl we saw as we went along. A black hawk flew right in front of us. My daughter and I were intrigued by the different looking plants growing here in Arizona. It amazed us to see so many plants with "sharp" edges yet they have such beautiful flowers and help support the wildlife here. There were several other boats also enjoying the lake. The Captain kindly answered our questions and patiently gave us the opportunity to take pictures. The Desert Belle was comfortable and allowed for great visibility. This cruise is a great way to spend a couple of hours at a beautiful lake. The restaurant offered good food and a great view while waiting for the cruise. |

I really enjoyed the Desert Belle Paddleboat Cruise on Saguaro Lake. I was in town visiting my boyfriend and wanted to do something nice, scenic and relaxing. So I did some research and came across tthe Desert Bell Cruise. It was amazing, beautiful, and very peacefull. I also like the description of the place that was given by the tour guide. We went in early-mid December, the weather was a little cool but still made for an enjoyable trip. There was also not a lot of people on the boat ( total of 6) likely because of the cool weather and it is a little too early for the tourist season. The view again was amazing. And the price not that bad. Highly recommend it. There is also a nice little restaurant, not fancy, but the food is great. It is also at Saguaro Lake Marina. Right next to where we had to board the boat. |
