One sees Bald Eagles, Chicken Hawks, all kinds of birds. Lots of wildlife show up, and beautiful cactus, etc. Well worth the money!!!!! |

The scenery was great, but the boat was in poor repair. Part of the railing at the front was held together with duct tape. Also, the sound system quit working, so we missed the commentary by the captain, thus putting a damper on the cruise. |

Cruise was very nice, IF there was not a family that had children running all over.
This family occupied the prime seats and then proceeded to let their children run freely around the deck.
They made no effort to decipline them and they were very annoying to others.
They even blocked the seats so the young could have a nap.
Because this boat has indoor and outdoor seating it made it difficult to see, because we were stuck in the cabin part.
I would love to take another cruise but would watch for families with small children, they dont understand what to look for.

This tour of Lake Saguaro was a beautiful example of out wilderness, mountain and lake areas. Our guests from Minnesota and Nevada had seen only the desert areas of our state. We learned details of the lake creation/damm and geological facts, saw wild life such as Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Green Herons and Grebes. Having perfect weather helped make it a perfect afternoon. |

We recently took the sight-seeing trip on Saguaro Lake on the Desert Belle boat. It was a most enjoyable day, perfect weather, no problems with the boat, a very knowledgeable "Captain/narrater/one man crew". Boat left on time, was clean, had restroom (didn't use, so can't comment on it). Even had various drinks in a cooler for $1 each, honor system (again, didn't use, so can't say how it worked). The seating is merely folding chairs and there is a tarp-type sun shade over the top, which somewhat restricts the sight-seeing up the cliffs we passed by, but on the other hand, sure felt good to get protection from the bright sun. Should bring sun-screen since sun comes in the sides, a hat, and possibly jacket or sweater if it's cool out since it gets breezy on the water. |

I hadn't been to Saguara Lake for years, and this was certainly a great way to see the lake. The guide was informative, the scenary was beautiful this time of year, very green and a lot of wild flowers. We were even lucky enough to see 3 bald eagles. The 1 1/2 hour trip was a good amount of time to be on the lake. I would suggest getting there really early as it is first come first board. Even though we arrived 1/2 an hour early we were in the middle boarding group and were going to have to sit inside, which was disappointing. I asked the guide if there were any other outside seats available, and he offered to put up a couple of chairs on the back deck for us which made us very happy. |

A gentle breeze, warm sunshine, things beautiful to look at and interesting to learn..that was our experience on the Desert Belle. Our captain was very knowledgeable and we were fortunate enough to get a clear view of two eagles and two herons. The recommendation to keep personal items off the deck should be heeded - surprise waves do wash on board! |
