First of all, the day was beautiful. Neither too hot or too cold.
I can't remember the boat captain's name, but he was very good. He didn't try to be cute, which was important to the woman who came with me. He was very informative, spoke distinctly, and it was just the right amount of information mixed with quiet time. We were both sorry when the 1 1/2 hours was over. |

We brought family from Wy to go the tour which we had done in January. Very informative and great thing for out of town people to do. |

Buy your tickets on line so you will be sure to have a seat. I did and I was glad because the 12:30 tour was a sell out. It was 90 minutes of relaxed beauty as the captain took control and we enjoyed the beauty of the desert, saw a bald eagle, a herd of herons, and so many wild flowers. JUST DO IT!...Even the drive out to the Sarguaro Marina was pretty...

The Historical League ladies take a tour each month and our afternoon spent on the Desert Belle Paddle Boat was perfect. The crew was so nice and allowed us to take picnic lunches so we could eat and listen to the interesting information the captain was telling us as we journeyed around the lake. When we saw a bald eagle, I think we all knew the trip was blessed with good luck. Sighting one of those special birds is a real treat in life. The day was pure pleasure and the canyons, wildlife, and scenery were outstanding. I bought the tickets a head of time and I am thankful I did since it was a sell out. The crew was so friendly and very nice to accomodate some of our special needs for the group. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who has not done it. It is good for families and seniors. I heard that the food served at the restaurant was delicious but since we had our own box lunches, I can't verify that.

We have been on many lake cruises and short river runs and this rates with the very best. We were extremely fortunate in that our late afternoon cruise carried only two couples. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed the tour captain's knowledgeable scenic comments of the surrounding area as well as his friendly manner. The cliffs and rock strata were very beautiful as were the interesting beach areas. Fast lake boats and water skiers passed us by adding interest and many additional photo ops to the cruise.
I think that a full load of 75-80 passengers would certainly change the dynamics of the cruise, but its necessity is recognized from an economic standpoint.

Our group consisted of 7yr old, 15yr old, 68, 72. We all thought it was beautiful, kids didn't realize how high mts were and they were interested in the wild life that lived within the lake. Got some wonderful pictures, several we will have framed. I am going again on 4/17 with my Red Hat group. |

We were a party of six people that thoroughly enjoyed the day. Everyone was totally pleased with the trip.
The scenery was wonderful and it was the most informative tour we have experienced. It was a totally delightful day.
The only thing that I could possibly recommend would be to provide the use of a wheelchair. No everyone can do the stairs that easily, and to walk the way around on the ramp is not possible for some, but if there was a wheelchair one could push the person around on the ramp provided. |
