(Diver Ed)

Seller Description:
Diver Ed's Dive-in Theater Boat Cruise is an underwater extravaganza the whole family will love!

After his first breath underwater at the age of 16, Ed knew he would be a diver. Since then he has logged over 35,000 hours diving for fun, commercially, conducting research, and hand-harvesting scallops.

Ed has worked as a fisherman, marine ecologist for the Smithsonian Institution, Harbormaster for the Town of Bar Harbor, and founded the League of Underwater Superheroes.

"Diver Ed is...a wild-haired cross between John Belushi and Jacques Cousteau whose idea of fun is kissing live sea creatures and over-inflating his scuba suit so amusing noises blow out the neck hole." -- Family Fun Magazine

The Dive-In Theater Cruise will be running from July through October, but our summer season's schedule is not available yet. Please check back again soon!

Activity Information:

Activity Description
Journey to the bottom of the sea without ever getting wet when you dive into Maine's only underwater sightseeing trip!

With Captain Evil Edna at the helm, Diver Ed begins the adventure by pointing out surrounding wildlife on the way to the dive site. Kids on board help suit him up and then push him overboard!

On the bottom, Ed maneuvers his video camera while you watch on the six-foot screen. Edna uses underwater communication with Ed, as she explains what you are seeing.

Diver Ed also collects fascinating sea creatures and brings them aboard for a hands-on show-and-tell, such as:

  • Starfish
  • Sea Urchins
  • Sand Dollars
  • Sea Cucumbers
  • Hermit crabs
  • Snails
  • Lobsters
  • Much more!
After your close encounter with the creatures, they are gently returned to the sea. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to touch anything Diver Ed finds!

What Is Not Included?

  • Food and beverages are not included, but feel free to bring your own (no coolers please).
  • Gratuity is not included and greatly appreciated (we use it to feed our three Newfoundland water-rescue dogs!).
