| Diver Ed and Captain Evil (Ed's wife Edna) are the talk of the town and you know will know why after one trip. On their new boat - just floated this year (2009), they are well equipped to make an exciting trip out to the local depths. From there you can watch Diver Ed via underwater camera as he goes into the "deep" with his trusty "mini-Ed" side-kick. Together they collect local sea creatures including scallops, crabs, lobsters, sea cucumbers and anything else that swims by.
After an entertaining session of Ed encountering the local sea life, he brings it on board (under a special permit by the state of Maine) to allow for children of all ages to touch the creatures. It is two hours of fantastic fun for which we are on our 5th annual trip this year. You will not be disappointed and on the new boat, it is even more stable with easy viewing and plenty of room to engage both Ed and the creatures.
Children, Adults and even those elusive teens will have a great time. Bring a camera and remember that on the water it can be cold.. |

| I took my 4 yr old and 7 yr old daughters on the Starfish Enterprise for what turned out to be an entertaining and hilarious trip, full of information and hands-on fun! Diver Ed was great about meeting everyone onboard and really engaging the kids in learning about Maine's sea creatures. Being able to watch the bottom of Frenchman's bay on the screen, live was really amazing. I've lived here for 10 years and I never knew how much sea life was just off the shore of the island! The girls really enjoyed getting up close and personal with sea stars, lobsters, crabs and sea cucumbers- made for fabulous photo ops! I would recommend this for the young and the young at heart! |

| I enjoyed every minute of this adventure and so did my daughter and her children. I was impressed with Ed's ability to relate to little kids---the ones with me were ages 7 and 5. They won't ever forget the trip, and I am sure they will return on future trips to Down East Maine. We have recommended Diver Ed to many friends. |

| I took my 9 year old grandson and we were delighted!! He got lots of educational info from diver Ed on many subjects without realizing it. Diver Ed was funny and friendly and the kids and adults all enjoyed the experience, as well as touching and holding the sea creatures he brought back up to the deck. My favorite pictures are the starfish "christmas tree" on one of the childrens heads and the look on my grandsons face when he held a lobster for the first time. Thanks Diver Ed and Mrs Ed for a wonderful time and for making the experience so personal for my grandson. I would go again and suggest it for anyone who has children. |

| My husband and I took our grandsons (ages 6 and 12 years) on a vacation to Maine.
One of the highlights was Captain Evil, Diver Ed, Mini Ed and Kevster on their new boat the Starfish.
Being snorkelers and divers ourselves, it was wonderful for our grandsons to share our joy of the bounty ounder the sea. Awe and joy abounded.
Thanks for a memory making excursion.!!! |

| I can't say enough great things about Diver Ed and this cruise. My 3 year old granddaughter could not stop talking about Diver Ed, the sea animals and especially mini-ed. After getting off of the boat the first time she wanted to go back, so we did a few days later, after that trip she wanted to go the next day, unfortunately we could not or we would have.
Diver Ed is so fantastic with the children no matter what age, and his and Captain Evil's (his wife) explaination of the creatures of the area were great.
I think no matter how many times you might take this adventure, you will see something different and still be amazed and educated, even I at 54 learned new and exciting things.
I urge anyone that is in the area with or without kids (especially with no matter what age) to take this adventure.
A great thanks to Diver Ed, Captain Evil and their dogs for a great and educational time.

| Eddie is very entertaining. The kids in the crowd were eating up his antics, and it was impossible for the adults to resist his humor and effervescent personality. He kept us smiling and laughing. He was sometimes silly but not demeaning.
It is amazing how well we could see the critters while Eddie was underwater, via the video camera and screen. I will not be able to dive to the bottom of the Bay myself, so to be able to do it virtually through Diver Ed was priceless.
Once Eddie brought the animals up to the boat, it was so fascinating to be able to touch and see the critters up close. I would have liked a little more factual information, but that may have been difficult due to the need to keep the attention of the children in the crowd.
Being out on the water, seeing the shore and islands from the water also gave us a great perspective. But wear layers! It is colder on the water than on land.
Overall, it was an wonderful time and an excellent value for the money. |

| From the moment we stepped on board, Ed and his wife made our family feel welcome. I don't know where he gets all of his energy from, but I want some! His warmth, sense of humor, and knowledge about sea life created an amazing, hands-on experience for our entire family. Our kids loved watching him explore the ocean 60 feet below us on the large screen. We loved that his wife explained everything we were seeing onscreen while Ed was exploring with the camera. His companion of Mini-Ed (a playmobil toy mini version of Ed) was hilarious, as Mini-Ed wrestled with lobsters and crabs on the ocean floor. After about 20 minutes underwater and on-screen, Diver Ed had collected numerous starfish, sea stars, crabs, lobsters, and mussels for the kids to touch and learn about back on the boat. My son Aidan still brags to his friends at school about kissing a crab! We were so impressed by their "Critter Cruise" (as my kids refer to it) and we are so grateful for the vivid memories and wonderful photos we now have to cherish. Many, many thanks for making our time in Bar Harbor so special. Even though we went initially for our twins, who are only four years old, I think people of all ages will love Ed's Dive-In Theater Cruise. Especially kids ages 13 and under. A++ in our books! We'll be sure to go again next time we're in Bar Harbor, as what Diver Ed encounters each time will be different!
