| Our group consisted of my 80-year-old mother, myself, my husband, and our 3-year-old son. Diver Ed and Captain Edna were very attentive to my mother with helping her get on and off the boat. They were very good with my son as well. We all had a great time. My son especially loved handling the sea cucumbers and starfish that Diver Ed brought up.
Unfortunately, this trip showed that I get seasick. This occurred while Diver Ed was diving, so there was no way to get me to shore. Captain Edna immediately provided me with Seabands accupressure bracelets which she had on board, which helped greatly, but not quite enough. She then produced Dramamine and a bottle of water for me. She and the deck hand, Libby, were very concerned and kept a close watch on me while staying calm and continuing with the show for the rest of the passengers. When Diver Ed got back on the boat, Captain Edna quietly alerted him to the situation and they were prepared to cut short the trip if necessary, but the combination of the bracelets and Dramamine were sufficient for the show to go on. Both Diver Ed and Captain Edna checked in with me frequently for the remainder of the trip. I cannot speak highly enough of them for their concern, calm handling, and preparedness for this episode
I have only one cautionary comment (other than taking Dramamine ahead of time if you think you might get seasick). If you do not like dogs, this is not the trip for you. In addition to all the people on the boat, there are two large (and friendly) Newfoundland dogs aboard. Quarters get a bit crowded at times, and the dogs aren't above sticking very large heads into your lap for attention. I like dogs, and it didn't bother me, but it might be a cause of concern for some people. |

Diver Ed was extremely engaging - you can tell he loves what he does. He's great with the kids - really silly and fun. My son is 4 years old and on the autism spectrum. Although he was distracted during the boat ride, he loved getting to touch all the sea life and when we ask him what he liked about Maine he says "the crabs, the lobsters and the cocoon" (meaning the sea cucumber). I would definitely recommend.

I took a high school friend and her grandddaughter out w/ Diver Ed and we all had a great time! Ed and Edna do a TERRIFIC JOB! Lady Liberty needs more experience and a little of Ed and Edna's enthusiasm to complete the wonderful time. Overall, we had a great time!

We loved this boat ride! My boys (ages 6 and 8) were totally engaged the entire trip. They loved Diver Ed's furry dogs and interesting facts. Getting to actually touch the ocean creatures made a lasting impression with all of us. The first thing the boys did when we got home was to pull out their Playmobile toys and continue mini-Ed's ocean adventure in their room.

We attended the trip with children; however, I would have enjoyed it just as much as a couple on a date. Diver Ed was very knowledgeable and personable. I was impressed when he greeted each guest by name and asked a few questions about them. His presentation of the animals was not only educational but spontaneous and entertaining. I would highly recommend this excursion for all ages. It was one of the highlights of our New England vacation.

We really enjoyed the Diver Ed experience. It was not the greatest weather day, but we were so happy we decided to go forward with the trip. The ticket process with Zerve was great. Diver Ed and Captain Evil were fantastic. I think that the kids - we had 5 adults and 5 kids in our group - really enjoyed themselves. The concept of Ed diving with the digital camera and then bringing up stuff for the kids to touch and feel was unique. If there was one thing that I would comment on from a negative perspective it would be the dogs on the boat. One of my children is pretty petrified of dogs. While they were out of the way (up front) for some of the trip, things were fine. But, during the times they were out in the boat area, he was a nervous wreck. Newfoundlands are really big dogs and to my 7 year old, it was distracting. Not sure if it is practical to keep them stowed for a whole trip, but we could have done without the dogs. All in all, this was a great way to spend a couple of hours. Diver Ed was personable, funny and even educational!

Diver Ed's Dive-Time Theater is the most fun kids can have in Bar Harbor - definitely will be one of their highlights of the summer, especially if the kids have any interest in animals or what happens under the surface of the ocean. The trip far, far exceeded our expectations. Diver Ed is a natural with kids - entertaining and educational. The crew is very friendly accommodating and helpful. My wife forgot to bring her accu-pressure bands for sea-sickness, and Captain Evil had a set for her to use and even a variety of other sea-sickness remedies for her to try if the bands failed. My son talked about the trip all week long, and is still telling us about sea cucumbers, hermit crabs, etc.

My family definitely recommends this activity to any individuals or families who are interested in a well-run, educational experience which is sure to be barrels of fun! We had a wonderful time during the 2-hour excursion and have already recommended it to several friends. Our children seized the opportunity to observe, touch and ask questions about the various sea creatures which Diver Ed and Captain Evil showed to us. We loved it !!!

My husband, our two year old son, and myself stopped in Bar Harbor for a night while we were traveling through Maine. My son absolutely love the Diver Ed trip! It was a great trip for all of us, but definitely focused on children 10 and under. All of the kids on the boat had a blast and the crew was fantastic! They were amazing with all of the kids and took time to talk to each child and make them feel special. It was definitely the highlight to our trip and we can't wait to go back again!
