Dive-In Theater Boat Cruise of Bar Harbor

This was our family's fourth tour with Diver Ed and we were very excited that on this trip we were able to introduce the fun to some of our extended family. Diver Ed and Captain Edna do a fantastic job entertaining and informing. My seven- and eleven-year olds still don't realize just how educational this trip is because they are laughing so hard at Diver Ed's antics! And while we were sad to hear that their original boat, "The Seal," met with an untimely end, we thoroughly enjoyed the new boat. We were especially amazed at how STUNNING the underwater video was with the new big screen TV! Can't wait to come back!

This was really a blast. Diver Ed has contagious enthusiasm and makes this trip so much fun. The kids loved seeing and touching the sea creatures that Ed brought up from the sea floor. Educational and fun at the same time. I would totally recommend this activity to other families.

We loved the Dive-In Theater -- everything about it -- and highly recommend it. It's a great way to do something educational on vacation, while still having a great time and having both kids and adults engaged in what's happening. Diver Ed is a riot and the kids on the boat especially loved him. The crew was warm and welcoming, and we learned so much about the creatures Diver Ed netted and brought on board. So exciting to see and hear Diver Ed while he was on his dive! The boat ride was beautiful. One unexpected bonus is that College of the Atlantic was the meet-up spot for the tour, and we never would have gone there otherwise. Great little natural history museum with touch tank and cobble beach there - really added to our time on Mt. Desert Island. Kudos and thanks to the Underwater Superheroes for offering such a fantastic activity! We will be back and will recommend it to everyone we know who is headed to the Bar Harbor area on vacation. Zerve registration was efficient and convenient, and ticket prices were entirely reasonable.

Visitors: Two grandparents in their 50s; Two parents in the 20s and 3.5 year old little girl. Beautiful boat, smooth ride, great entertainment and educational experience. Edna, Ed and Newfoundland dogs exceptional hosts. Very knowledgeable and their interaction with the children was exceptional. The new LCD TV system works great. We even took pictures of what we saw on the TV screen. Museum at College of the Atlantic was a great place to meet before cruise as it was awesome, too. No one is too old to enjoy this cruise. We give it five stars.

We shared a great day with diver Ed. He was extrememly informative and fun and our whole group (ages 11-74) loved it. We even got to see Harbor Seals...what a bonus. It was fun and informative and we would recommend it to anyone visiting this area.

We (our kids are 11 and 9) recently took a trip with Diver Ed. Ed and his wife enjoy what they do and have fun while they're doing it. If I had older kids (>13-14) I recommend the adult oriented trip, however, even my "old" 11 yo had fun on the trip.

I would say that Diver Ed made the boat ride extra nice. His wife and himself enjoyed who they were and what they were there to do.. Which was to provide the folks on the boat some sites and entertainment. His and her knowledge was outstanding and we would tell anyone, that was looking for a good show to come on board Eds boat. Money well spent! Great Job

I had heard about Dive-In Theatre through the intenet. When we got to Bar Harbor it was also recommended by friends and family. Diver Ed and Captain Evil are two folks that are truly doing what they love. Dive-In Theatre is education made fun. Kids will love Diver Ed's antics and even adults will laugh the whole time while they're learning about marine life.

I blindly picked this tour off the internet (National Park recommended) and thought that we were going for "Diver Education" but it turns out (not to ruin any surprises) that the diver is actually named Ed. Ed, along with his wife, are so personable and educational that we laughed and learned so much about sea life. My girls (ages 13, 10 and 6) had a blast and I enjoyed myself as well. The boat is clean, fee reasonable and really worth going on. It is like the Discovery Channel meets the Comedy Channel. Would so do this again:)

If you have kids I highly reccommend diver ed. It was so much fun for the kids and adults too. It kept the kids interested the whole time. It was really cool to see diver ed on the tv screen and see what he was doing under water. Then you get to touch the critters he finds. Very interesting. I give it 5 stars.
