Great entertainement for the kids!

Diver Ed was a great tour! I had done some research before and it did not disappoint. Ed was enthusiastic, entertaining and knew how to get the kids involved. My kids were 3 and 5. They had a great time. During our tour the current wasn't very strong hence the visibility underwater wasn't all that amazing. However, the camera used was spectacular. I highly recommend this tour to families with kids. Great entertainement and educational value at the same time,

See and Touch the Ocean Floor with Diver Ed

This is a really great experience for the whole family. Our trip was a short and calm ride out. Diver Ed and Captian Evil are great entertainers and there was never a dull moment on the boat. I really enjoyed the trip myself and had a great time touching and seeing the sea creatures up close. My 6 yr old daughter also had a great time and was completely engaged the whole time. My 3yr old son was not as in to it, and maybe he's a little too young for the experience. The HD video from the bottom of the ocean is really great as well, showing the animals that you'll be touching in their natural habitats and how they move in the water (very different than when out of the water). Captain Evil's commentary and Diver Ed's antics during this portion is hilarious. The cost is a little pricey, but I think totally worth it. Don't forget to bring a light jacket since it gets cold out there on the water.

Great activity with children

If you are looking for a scenic boat ride, there are plenty of other less expensive options. However, if you are looking for a hands-on, fun and educational activity to do with children, diver Ed's is the way to go. The boat doesn't move much (and it was foggy anyway), so you don't see a lot of the coast, but you do get to witness the abundant sea life off of Maine in a very unique, entertaining manner. Highly recommend it for those with small kiddos!

Diver Ed was AWESOME!

This is the second visit that we made to see Diver Ed and Captain Evil. We drove way out of our way, which is not hard to do in Maine, just for the boat ride. My kids loved it. I saw my daughter and son's eyes grow bigger and bigger with excitement and having the opportunity to learn more about the sea life. They have been telling their grandparents details that I had assumed went over their heads, but they took all of the information in. Thank you for getting my children excited about the ocean and its wonderful creatures. Diver Ed you are amazing and your love of what you do makes it all the more entertaining! Thank you.

Diver Ed and Captain Evil are wonderful, informative, enthusiastic and funny. They are FANTASTIC with kids (as well as adults). Our 10 year old LOVED this trip- both watching Diver Ed under the water with Mini Ed as they explored the ocean floor for sea creatures as well as checking out all of the sea creatures that were brought back onto the boat. Really felt this was WELL worth the money we spent. When we go to this area again, we hope to go on another tour!

Diver Ed, Captain Evil, and his crew are amazing! The energy and knowledge that they have for the waters and sea life surrounding Bar Harbor is tops! The kids - and adults - will laugh nonstop at Diver Ed's antics. Captain Evil, who is definitely NOT evil (ask how she got her name - cute story), will teach you tons about sea life. I can't wait to return to Bar Harbor to cruise with them again.

2 different people recommended this as a "must do" for our trip to Bar Harbor and they were right on! We had an almost 3, 5 and 15 year old with us and we all enjoyed it equally. We learned a ton and saw some great sea life.....including a 31 in Lobster that is as big as our little girl! If we ever go back to Bar Harbor, I will do this again for sure. Only Regret - I didn't see the sign for tips until I was looking through my trip pictures, they totally earned it!

Must-do adventure in Bar Harbor

My 7-year-old daughter insists we do this ever year when we go to Maine. It's educational and entertaining for the whole family. Diver Ed has non-stop juvenile humor that keeps the kids engaged. This time, in addition to the sea creatures from the deep, we saw a bald eagle and a whole community of seals.

Diver Ed was great. He is very very kid friendly. The water was very smooth the day we went out and we didn't go out into the open sea. It was just in Frenchman Bay, right near some of the islands near Mount Desert Island. If you're prone to motion sickness, it might be good to have some Meclizine just so that the gentle swells don't mess with your head. If you're not prone to motion sickness, you won't notice anything at all. It was really a fun outing and one of the best ones of the trip. They make it as interactive as possible, bringing up various sea creatures into the boat and watching Diver Ed during the dive on the HDTV screen. He dives with an HD camera and you see on the screen what he sees from the floor of the bay, so it's pretty cool. This was one of the highlights of our trip and both kids and adults enjoyed it. After the trip, this was probably one of the most talked about activities that we had during our visit. I would highly recommend it to everyone who visits Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park.
