NOT for individuals with physical limitations .You have to walk quickly up and down hilly areas for quite a distance to get on/off the boat, and the plank to disembark the boat to dry land is at such a degree at high tide, that it is extremely difficult to navigate unless you are in top physical shape. Had i known that, i would have chosen a different boat experience in Bar Harbor. |

This is the second year we journeyed with Diver Ed and Captain Evil and I think we had more fun this time (even thought the day was windy and rainy). Ranger Eleanor was great and had a wealth of information about the area and the sea life in Frenchman's Bay, even some good gross out stuff for the kids.
Diver Ed and Captain Evil give a fun presentation of the Underwater findings, using a 3 inch "MiniEd" to help point the way and handle the dangerous stuff, like kissing a Sea Anemone. The entire presentation is ad lib because you just don't know what you will find. This trip Diver Ed was able to Bring up to the boat Lobsters, Rock Crabs, Sand Dollars, Scallops, Sea Urchins, Sea Cucumbers, Sea Stars, Hermit Crabs and Sea Snails.
Diver Ed is apparently one of the few still independently operated "tour" boats on the bay so I say Support the "Little" guy and have a great time doing it.
The next time we find ourselves in Bar Harbor (next year) we will definitely take the tour ..... again. |

The crew made this activity so much fun. They were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. There was enough room for everyone to sit and see the video screen. Touching the sea creatures was just amazing. We would recommend this tour to anyone. |

Diver Ed and his mate "Captain Evil" will captivate you with sea creatures which Ed and mini-Ed gather from the ocean floor. You'll get to hold and examine lobsters, crabs, sea stars, sea cucumbers, mussels, and other finds. Ed and Evil and Ranger Tony provide the perfect blend of marine and wildlife teaching interspersed with just the right touch of humor. This cruise is a must-see for folks from 6 to 66 (and beyond) and a real bargain at $40. Enjoy!! |

This was one of the best tour boats we have ever taken. It was a little like Saturday Night Live....with Diver Dan..Captain Evil....Eleanor the Park Ranger and last, but not least...Little Diver Ed #127. It was really cool watching the two Eds down in the water finding sealife and then bringing it on the boat. Eleanor was a hoot...you can tell she really loves her job. We've told several friends about the trip. We have some great shots of Ed demonstrating how to put on a life jacket using his Newfie as the model. We also have photos of us with little Ed. These people are awesome and have a great sense of humpor |

This is our 7th or 8th trip with Ed and "Captain Evil". They have always been both informative and entertaining. This year, Ranger Eleanor also contributed greatly to the experience not only with her knowledge but also with her sense of humor.
We ALWAYS strongly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Bar Harbor! |

Don't miss this experience! Diver Ed, his wife and the Park Ranger, Eleanor, are excellent at what they do, informative and hospitable. You learn about the area, see birds, seals and porpoises as well as underwater life and fish both while Diver Ed is underwater, but also you get to hold or touch them after he brings some of them to the surface. This is a fantastic experience for young and old alike. |

This is the second time that I've done the Dive In Theater and both times were fun, entertaining and educational. There were enough differences between the 2 trips to keep me interested. It's definitely something that you won't see anywhere else. Ed really enjoys his work, as does the Park Ranger and Captain Evil, and it shows. You won;t be sorry. |
