The tour of Frenchman's Bay was a pleasant and informative way to spend an afternoon. The fun was in watching the diver as he found and retrieved creatures from the bottom of the bay. Then seeing the creatures up close and being able to touch them.

We have 2 kids (11 & 12) and we all enjoyed this excursion! Diver Ed was funny, knowledgeable and very friendly. It was amazing what he was able to find on his dive and the video you see of him underwater was fantastic! Then being able to touch and hold all the sea life he brings up was incredible! We took the National Park Ranger tour (an hour longer than the usual) and we also saw an eagle's nest, neat rck formations and lots of seals basking on the rocks. It was a trip we will all talk about for a long time!

Good, but ranger unnecessary

Overall this is a great program. We've been on the Diver Ed program without the ranger and I'd recommend that one over the ranger program. Diver Ed is hillarious and he and his wife are so knowledgable about the area, I didn't think the ranger added much. I wouldn't pay the extra for the ranger again, unless you just wanted a longer boat ride. FYI this is the third year in a row our family has been out with Ed, but the first time with the ranger. I'd rate the program without the ranger 5+ stars.

Our afternoon on Diver Ed's boat has become the highlight of our time in Bar Harbor. We saw birds, seals, porpoises, eagles, and lots of sea creatures. But the best part was Diver Ed, himself. He is a treat!

Our group of four adults loved the Dive-In Theater. We have all been on many water tours but have never experienced the underwater camera before. It was fascinating. Diver Ed's knowledge and humor kept everyone on the boat fully engaged. I would do it again!!

This was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Bar Habor. The whole crew of the Seal did an excellent job throughout our 3 hour trip around Frenchman's Bay. The park ranger on the trip was knowledgeable as to the ecology and geology of Mount Desert Island. Diver Ed and Mini Ed were hilarious and the live underwater footage was very cool. Being able to touch and see the sea life on the boat was interesting and my wife and I learned alot. Very good activity for children and adults too.

The staff was wonderful, the trip was just the right length, and the sea life view with the HD camera was wonderful. Diver Dave was very knowledgeable and the Park ranger Angie was incredible! All of the sea life was interesting and our 4 year old son loved the "show & tell". Thanks. Dana

Thrilling and beautiful ocean adventure

We are just back from ten days in the Bar Harbour / Acadia Nat. Park area. It was a beautiful early Fall vacation. Our favorite outing was this Diver Ed trip. First of all, it got us to the College of the Atlantic which is a very cool place. I love the concept of learning AND having fun at the same time. Being able to see Diver Ed suit up, dive and encounter the ocean floor was pretty amazing. And the hands-on experience with the creatures he brought up was great. Captain Edna is an amazing woman, and the Ranger was friendly, informative and easy to be around. It was great to have information so easily available to us. And the trip concluded with a rainbow that spanned two islands! My husband and I highly recommend this activity.
