| The program was great for children especially and adults as well. The weather was picture perfect and the water calm.Everyone on the trip had a wonderful time. Diver Ed has a great personality and was entertaining as well as informative. His stories are fabulous. The children seemed to really enjoy pushing him into the water at the beginning of the trip. Thoroughly enjoyable time with Diver Ed - would certainly recommend it to friends and family and in the future will take other family members on the trip. Fabulous time!! P.S. Not sure I would like to have many dogs on board - even if they are friendly. But that is just my opinion. | ||||||

| This is the 2nd time we've gone out on Diver Ed's boat and our kids love it. Diver Ed, Captain Evil and Deckhand Dick are wonderful educators and entertainers. We go to Maine every summer and Diver Ed is always top our list. Our 4 and 6 year old boys love it -- we love it too. Pure joy. | ||||||

| It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Our group included three children who were kept interested by Diver Ed and Ranger Emily. We were lucky to see seals, Bald Eagles and lots of creatures who live under the sea. I would highly recommend it to everyone. | ||||||

| Imagine John Belushi driving The Magic Shcool Bus and you will get an idea of what it is like spending a few hours with Diver-Ed. Our kids loved it 2 years ago when they were 4 and 6 and we went again this week with them aged 6 and 8. If your kids love slimy things and enjoy getting wet and mom and dad (and grandparents) like to laugh then this is the trip for you. Yes the kids and adults learn about the undersea world as well! | ||||||

| Diver Ed's Dive-In Theatre was a fantastic outing! We all had a great time, especially our 5 yr old. You can easily tell Diver Ed loves what he does by his enthusiasm and high energy. He is phenomenal with kids and makes it great fun to learn about "sea creatures". His antics make the adults and kids alike crack-up! His wife, the captain of the boat, is also a warm, friendly person who helps things along on the trip. We highly recommend this outing! | ||||||

| We've gone out on a Diver Ed trip every summer since it started 8 or 9 years ago. The new boat is really nice. We loved the Seal, but the new boat is more roomy, more stable, easier to get on and off, etc. Ed and Edna are wonderful as always. Our kids loved this trip when they were 4 and 7 years old and they still love it at 13 and 16. And, my 76 year old mom laughs at Eddie's antics. In my opinion, the trips without the park service naturalist are a bit more freewheeling and fun than the ones with. But it's been years since we've tried the park service naturalist version. | ||||||

| On the way out, we saw harbor porpoises. Then the boat anchored on the lee side of an island where the sea was perfectly still and calm. It was a gorgeous day. Diver Ed entertained/explained all as he prepared to dive and then had the little kids "push" him in, except he did a back flip on his way off the boat! Immediately he communicated with the boat passengers via microphone from under water. Captain Edna could talk back to him as well. She told us about his underwater camera while he hunted up some animals to bring back to the boat. Then he surfaced to fetch the camera, took it back down, and we watched very high definition video live from the bottom of the ocean while he continued to tell us about what he was looking at, and Edna explained as well. The screen is in the upper, darkened part of the boat so it is easy to see from any of the nice new bench seats. (The entire boat is brand new this year because the old one was destroyed in a storm last fall that dragged it from its mooring onto land.) Diver Ed takes Mini Ed down with him as a "ruler" to give perspective to the size of the animals on camera, which can be anywhere from teeny tiny starfish or crabs to 42" lobster. Diver Ed is the only diver in the State of Maine with a permit to bring up lobster. After the video show, he brings up all the animals and educates the passengers about them one at a time. The kids are laughing so hard they don't even know they are learning things. It is wonderful. After explaining about all the animals, everyone gets to touch and handle the animals as much as they want to, subject to stern rules (no pinching, squeezing, twisting, pulling of the live animals!). Then everyone says goodbye to the animals and they return them to the sea. Then the boat goes back, possibly seeing more wildlife on the way in: porpoise, seal, eagle, osprey, etc. We absolutely love Diver Ed and have gone every time we visit Maine since we were lucky enough to stumble upon him the first year he started the Dive In Theater, 2000. | ||||||

| Diver Ed was very funny and great with the kids. They loved touching the sea creatures, throwing him over board and learning about the equipment. It was a nice, relaxing ride where both my 6 year old and 2 year old had fun! Highly recommend it. | ||||||

| The Diver Ed trip is incredible. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and educational trip in the Bar Harbor area. He has a real talent for entertaining kids and adults. It was the highlight of our 3 day trip to Bar Harbor. | ||||||

| I enjoyed every minute of this adventure and so did my daughter and her children. I was impressed with Ed's ability to relate to little kids---the ones with me were ages 7 and 5. They won't ever forget the trip, and I am sure they will return on future trips to Down East Maine. We have recommended Diver Ed to many friends. | ||||||

| For two years in a row, Diver Ed has been the highlight of the trip. Our kids enjoyed it soo much once again and we also had a great time again. It is funny and educational for both parents and kids. I highly recommend it. | ||||||

| If you have children and even if you don't this trip is WONDERFUL!!! The information and actions are presented by a wonderful staff and keep everyones attention. My daughter had a starfish (SEA STAR- as you will learn) tower of 10 on her head - what a great photo!!! I will be talking about this trip for years to come as will my kids. | ||||||
