| The tour of Frenchman's Bay was a pleasant and informative way to spend an afternoon. The fun was in watching the diver as he found and retrieved creatures from the bottom of the bay. Then seeing the creatures up close and being able to touch them. | ||||||

| We have 2 kids (11 & 12) and we all enjoyed this excursion! Diver Ed was funny, knowledgeable and very friendly. It was amazing what he was able to find on his dive and the video you see of him underwater was fantastic! Then being able to touch and hold all the sea life he brings up was incredible! We took the National Park Ranger tour (an hour longer than the usual) and we also saw an eagle's nest, neat rck formations and lots of seals basking on the rocks. It was a trip we will all talk about for a long time! | ||||||

| Diver Ed and Captain Evil (Ed's wife Edna) are the talk of the town and you know will know why after one trip. On their new boat - just floated this year (2009), they are well equipped to make an exciting trip out to the local depths. From there you can watch Diver Ed via underwater camera as he goes into the "deep" with his trusty "mini-Ed" side-kick. Together they collect local sea creatures including scallops, crabs, lobsters, sea cucumbers and anything else that swims by. After an entertaining session of Ed encountering the local sea life, he brings it on board (under a special permit by the state of Maine) to allow for children of all ages to touch the creatures. It is two hours of fantastic fun for which we are on our 5th annual trip this year. You will not be disappointed and on the new boat, it is even more stable with easy viewing and plenty of room to engage both Ed and the creatures. Children, Adults and even those elusive teens will have a great time. Bring a camera and remember that on the water it can be cold.. | ||||||

| I took my 4 yr old and 7 yr old daughters on the Starfish Enterprise for what turned out to be an entertaining and hilarious trip, full of information and hands-on fun! Diver Ed was great about meeting everyone onboard and really engaging the kids in learning about Maine's sea creatures. Being able to watch the bottom of Frenchman's bay on the screen, live was really amazing. I've lived here for 10 years and I never knew how much sea life was just off the shore of the island! The girls really enjoyed getting up close and personal with sea stars, lobsters, crabs and sea cucumbers- made for fabulous photo ops! I would recommend this for the young and the young at heart! | ||||||

| Eddie is very entertaining. The kids in the crowd were eating up his antics, and it was impossible for the adults to resist his humor and effervescent personality. He kept us smiling and laughing. He was sometimes silly but not demeaning. It is amazing how well we could see the critters while Eddie was underwater, via the video camera and screen. I will not be able to dive to the bottom of the Bay myself, so to be able to do it virtually through Diver Ed was priceless. Once Eddie brought the animals up to the boat, it was so fascinating to be able to touch and see the critters up close. I would have liked a little more factual information, but that may have been difficult due to the need to keep the attention of the children in the crowd. Being out on the water, seeing the shore and islands from the water also gave us a great perspective. But wear layers! It is colder on the water than on land. Overall, it was an wonderful time and an excellent value for the money. | ||||||

| The staff was wonderful, the trip was just the right length, and the sea life view with the HD camera was wonderful. Diver Dave was very knowledgeable and the Park ranger Angie was incredible! All of the sea life was interesting and our 4 year old son loved the "show & tell". Thanks. Dana | ||||||

| This was a wonderful experience! Diver Ed and Evil Edna were lovely people and provided fun and laughs along with a very knowledgeable commentary on the sea creatures that Ed found. The quality of the undersea images we saw was superb, thanks to the top-grade camera equipment on board. This is no ordinary boat trip - it's a definite must-do for families vacationing in or near Bar Harbor. | ||||||

| Diver Ed, Mini-Ed, Captian Evil and the crew work hard to provide a great family experience. Special thanks to Halo and Levi for keeping us safe. Our three year old daughter had a blast. She and everyone aboard had ample opportunity to touch and hold a variety of bottom dwelling sea creatures from the bay. You will laugh and learn at the same time. | ||||||

| In a word, this trip was AWESOME! Diver Ed and Captain Evil are great with the kids (and the adults). Whether cracking jokes from 65 feet under the sea or explaining the creatures he brings back up with him, Ed is the consumate professional. Captain Evil is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. This is the ultimate playdate for a kid! Highly entertaining and educational as well. Hands on learning at it's slippery, slimy best! If you go to Bar Harbor with kids, DO THIS - Period!!! (P.S. Don't forget to kiss the lobster!) | ||||||

| This is now out fourth time for my family on the Diver Ed. cruise. My children, ages 7 and 11, have enjoyed Diver Ed since they were very small. Ed is extremely good with children and plays with them alot during the boat program. Ed's high definition underwater camera gives an AMAZING picture of the ocean floor. Diver Ed makes learning about ocean creatures and underwater sea life fun and interesting for the children. Diver Ed is an invaluable asset to the Bar Harbor community and this boat tour is a MUST for anyone traveling in the area with children. I believe Diver Ed also changes his tour during the fall season to be more directed toward the adult tourist. This is truly an excellent experience and has proven to be worthwhile each time we have gone. Advanced reservations for this program during the summer season are highly recommended.
