So Much FUN!!!!!

Diver Ed, Mini Ed, and Capt Evil (his wife Edna) are wonderful!! We had a blast! Learned so much about sea life! Laughed almost the entire trip! My 8 yr old son heard every single word diver ed and edna said and is still talking about this trip!! Cant wait to go again :) Saw seals, small whales, and lots of sea creatures. Thank you for a wonderful time! Also, the very clean comfortable boat has a very sturdy covering across the top where the people sit so you dont get wet or cold at all :)

The Dive In Theater is FABULOUS!!! We had so much fun, Diver Ed is hysterical! Who knew such cool creatures were living down below the waves. We saw Barnacles feeding, Anemones, fast fish and very clever crabs we never would have seen if it weren't for Diver Ed and of course his faithful companion #89 We love Halo and Levi and think Captain Evil is the coolest Captain to sail the seas. We look forward to our next adventure aboard the Seal, Thank you. Will, Kendra, Connor, Olivia and Nonnie

great for kids

Diver Ed is entertaining as heck. The kids love him. It is great to see what it looks like under the water - which I find is nothing like I would expect it to. Kids love the "eeeew-y" stuff, and Diver Ed always seems to come up with some of that! Besides being great fun, I hope it is teaching the children about loving our Bay and respecting the creatures that live in it.

Highly Recommend Diver Ed

We had the pleasure of taking a trip with Diver Ed last week. In our group we had 4 adults and 5 children. The children ranged in age from 2-10. Everyone had a great time. At first we weren't sure if it was going to be too "young" for the 10 year old in our group but he had a great time as well. Diver Ed's humor and energy made for a highly entertaining (and informative) trip. This is a MUST for anyone traveling to Bar Harbor who has kids. My kids are still talking about it.

My sister and I and our 4 kids went on Diver Ed's tour recently and we loved every minute ! We actually took the longer version of the trip with the park ranger. We saw so many things. We were lucky enough to watch an eagle diving for fish. The park ranger was good and very informative but we LOVED Diver Ed and Mini Ed. He and Captain Evil were very friendly and good with the kids. Diver Ed showed us many things that we hadn't seen before (the biggest sea cucumber ever!) and let the kids hold everything and even put the starfish on their heads. He was very funny and fun to watch and listen to. The kids still talk about the trip every day and say it is one of their favorite things that we did while on vacation. We can't recommend this trip enough. If you only get to do one boat trip while in Maine make this the one. You won't regret it.

My husband, two children (8 and 11) and I all loved this boat trip with Diver Ed, Captain Evil, and Mini Ed! Ed is incredibly funny, engaging, and informative. The kids thought he was a riot! Dad, too! The trip is exactly as billed and doesn't disappoint. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. Two hours of fun on the water, no sea sickness-yeah! This is not just for "little" kids as my 11 yr old was laughing the whole time. Perfect family fun. We highly recommend this trip and will definitely do this again! Thank you Ed and all for a great family memory.

A fantastic educational fun trip 4 all ages!!!!!!!

This was an experience that we'll never forget! From the moment we boarded the dock to the moment we got off the boat, we were highly entertained AND educated by DIver Ed and his wife, Captain Evil. They not only entertained our children, ages 14, 13 and 11, but me and my husband as well. My 13 and 14 y/o boys were belly laughing! Now that's a feat in itself considering they wanted to listen to their Ipods and play PSP instead. My daughter has not stopped talking about Diver Ed and mini Diver ED (You need to take the trip to understand). One minute we were just cruising out and the next the boat was on a goose chase to spot the marine life a customer spotted! Diver Ed suited up in his diving gear and had the kids push him overboard. Within minutes he was 100 feet below us with a video camera showing us everything that he could see while his wife narrrarated on board. He was able to catch lobsters, several star fish, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers, and sea urchins and bring them up on board. Of course he did have a helper...you have to take the trip to understand. My husband and I laughed the entire time he was under! All of the sea life was brought up onboard for viewing, touching, holding, squirting and learning. Wear your warm and old clothes! We took this tour at the beginning of our vacation in Bar Harbour and my daughter was able to participate and answer questions about what she learned here on another tour we did in southern Maine at the end of our vacation!! Now that's education at it's best! Thanks for the memories and a great time!!

Diver Ed never fails to please!

We have had the pleasure of going on the Dive-In Theater at least four times over the last ten years. It never fails to please our whole family - including children and grandparents. Ed was using Mini-Ed number 21 on our first trip. Now that he is on number 78 it is still wonderful. Might even say it gets better and better every time. Looking forward to another return trip.... And.... love the dogs!

My children (ages 8 and 12) enjoyed Diver Ed more than any single activity we engaged in on our trip. My husband and I enjoyed it as well. It is entertaining and educational. What a fun experience!

Diver Ed is a Bar Harbor Treasure
Tue, Jul 29, 08   9:30 AM Karengrooms Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This was hands-down the best thing we did with the kids in Bar Harbor! Better than whale watching. It is close-up, real, interactive fun and information about sea life happening at that minute on the bottom of the ocean. Both my 12 yr old boy and 9 yr old girl loved it! The adults loved it too!

Super Family Fun!

This was such an awesome experience for the whole family. The kids were entertained while being educated. (Mine are 4 and 7 years old.) Perfect mix! I think all of the older kids, teens and adults had a great time too. I sure did. I can't think of one thing to change about the entire experience. It was fabulous. I was very impressed when I thought about how the staff makes you feel special and attended to. They take the time to interact with everyone on board. This was pretty remarkable to me when I considered just how many trips they have to do that must be pretty much the same for them, but a unique experience for the patrons. It's obvious how much they care about educating about the oceanlife and habitat. It was a gas! Besides all of the hands on time with the specimens from below, we also saw porpoises jumping, a seal, and a huge Windjammer that came right along side of us. The natural beauty of the location goes without saying. Amazing views! I could have stayed out there on the boat even longer, but this was a perfect length of time for the kids. And, I'll never forget the drama of Mini Ed wrestling a live lobster underwater! I just might have to go again next summer!

Great activity for any age--young or old!
Thu, Sep 25, 08   1:30 PM JudyWilliams Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Well organized and well done activity by people who share their enthusiasm for what they are doing. We enjoyed the diversity of first cruising the water looking for wildlife that included birds and porpoises and then watching Diver Ed search for life on the bottom of the ocean. It was great first seeing the animals on the screen through the eyes of the diver's camera as he told us about the animal with his diver's microphone, and then watching as he put the animals into his bag to later bring onto the boat. We then had the excitement of getting to see, touch, hold, and take pictures of the animals--starfish, sand dollars, sea cucumbers, lobsters, crabs, etc.--after the diver returned to his boat with the bag. We have taken a lot of tours in the U.S. and Canada in the past few years and would rate this one in the "top five" of all our tours.
