Diver Ed

Diver Ed was great. He is very very kid friendly. The water was very smooth the day we went out and we didn't go out into the open sea. It was just in Frenchman Bay, right near some of the islands near Mount Desert Island. If you're prone to motion sickness, it might be good to have some Meclizine just so that the gentle swells don't mess with your head. If you're not prone to motion sickness, you won't notice anything at all. It was really a fun outing and one of the best ones of the trip. They make it as interactive as possible, bringing up various sea creatures into the boat and watching Diver Ed during the dive on the HDTV screen. He dives with an HD camera and you see on the screen what he sees from the floor of the bay, so it's pretty cool. This was one of the highlights of our trip and both kids and adults enjoyed it. After the trip, this was probably one of the most talked about activities that we had during our visit. I would highly recommend it to everyone who visits Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park.

My children and I thoroughly enjoyed our Diver Ed experience! If you have children you must go aboard the Starfish Enterprise, they do such a wonderful job! Diver Ed is so funny and such a natural with kids! Thank you!

This was the fourth time we have gone out on Diver Ed's boat. This year the wind made the ride a bit choppy and we skipped looking for harbor porpoises, but this meant we spent more time at the dive location in the shelter of one of the islands. Every trip Diver Ed finds something different different and we all had a great time. The highlight for me was HD video which included a closeup of two snails fighting. The kids loved the hands on time with the creatures Diver Ed brought up. Every time we come camping at Acadia Diver Ed is the highlight of the trip.

Diver Ed and his wife were informed about the underwater life in the bay and made the event fun while educational. Their equipment has been updated since we went on this tour 4 years ago,and the new camera and screen, as well as the boat, added a lot in terms of comfort and accessibility for all ages. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the sea life of Maine.

The laughter and awe on everyone's face is the most vivid memory of the week. Eddie and Edna are incredibly knowledgeable and gracious boat hosts! The movie screen depicted such gorgeous photos of the underwater sea life and "Mini Ed" was a survivor through it all! The touch tank was such fun for the kids and adults as well! Diver Ed Dive -In Theater will be a regular summer event for our visiting guests!

This was one of the most enjoyable and educational programs I've experienced together with my kids! Diver Ed and "Captain Evil" (Ed's wife) put on a non-stop feature based in fact/marine biology with a HUGE dose of humor. All the kids on the Starfish Enterprise loved it! All the adults loved it!

Our group of seven people ranged in age from 3 years old to mid-fifties and included two 16-year-olds. We all enjoyed Diver Ed and his crew. His enthusiasm is infectious! Great value for the price, too. We did an overpriced whale watch the next day with a different outfit and it was immensely disappointing in comparison to Diver Ed's adventure. The size of Starship Enterprise, Diver Ed's boat, allows access to nature up close and affords everyone on board an opportunity to participate. Well worth it; we'd do it again!

Diver Ed was the best! Our kids had a great time and really enjoyed the trip. The entire event was interactive, educational and a ton of fun!

Diver Ed was both entertaining and educational. My daughter loved boat ride. Us adults also enjoyed it. Diver Ed made us laugh and taught us a lot about the creatures that live at the bottom of the ocean. A great time for families.

Hours of complete fun, seeing sights from underwater we'd never otherwise get to see. Children and adults enjoyed every minute. Video full of smiling faces. Diver Ed and Captain Evil are amazing.... so is their equipment, the underwater life, and the way it is all presented. Perfect afternoon.

Diver Ed is very entertaining; the kids were laughing throughout the whole experience. He lets the kids help to push him off the boat into the water, which they love. He both filmed and brought up many interesting creatures, most of which the kids could touch and pick up.

Best thing our family did in Bar Harbor!
