Diver Ed

We all had a great time on this unique and educational excursion. Ed is entertaining and had the kids involved and laughing the whole time. A great family activity!

Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater was a blast for our entire family! Ed and his crew were friendly and entertaining with a fun sense of humor. His sense of adventure was contagious, and we all learned new things about diving and the ocean life he brought up for us to see on the boat. We were able to hold starfish, sea-cucumbers, lobsters, sand dollars, and more. Watching him on the screen and hearing his commentary while he was exploring the abundant underwater sea life was fascinating, knowing he was right underneath us! It was one of the most memorable parts of our vacation. Highly recommended, especially for families with kids!

What a great trip. Both Diver Ed and Captain Evil were wonderful!!! Fun for the whole family. It's funny and educational. What a hoot!!!! A trip worth taking.

We were camping in Acadia and went on a trip with Diver Ed and Captain Evil. The whole trip was perfect in every way. Diver Ed and Captain Evil and knowledgeable, energetic, and caring. They are skilled at handling children (and adults) with a gentle hand but keeping the right balance of chaos and order. The camera they use to show what is going on under th sea is spectacular. We loved every minute of the trip and plan to return next year and send as many people as we can on this wonderful adventure.

WE HAD SEEN THE SHOW LAST YEAR WITH OUR 9 YEAR OLD SON. WHEN WE MADE OUR TRIP THIS YEAR, THIS SHOW WAS ON THE TOP OF THE LIST TO DO AGAIN. I CAN'T COUNT THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WE TOLD ABOUT THE SHOW, NOT BEING ABLE TO GET THE REAL JIST OF IT. WE TOTALLY ENJOYED IT AND WE ALL WILL LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR WHEN WE COULD SEE IT AGAIN. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

We found the Diver Ed boat cruise very entertaining while still being very educational. The kids and grown-ups had a blast.

My husband and I were hesitant to book this tour (8/27/08) thinking our kids (9 and 11) were maybe a bit too old. It was my daughter's birthday and she wanted to go fishing. But 4 hours on a fishing boat was way too long and we all decided to try this instead. Both she and my son thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Ed and Edna and Dick were so great with the kids and I think the adults had as much fun as anyone. Mini Ed was our personal favorite! My kids enjoyed this trip WAY more that the whale watch trip. If you have young kids, this is the trip for you. p.s. Ed - Jennifer says thanks for making this the best thing about her 9th birthday! Maybe next time we'll get her to wear that sea star tower.

Diver Ed is an extremely personable, FUNNY, informative guide who makes the undersea world of Bar Harbor interesting to anyone with even the faintest interest in marine life. His unique style combines high-tech live underwater video transmission with a thorough knowledge of his subject, and terrific humor. Half the customers on our boat hardly understood English and definitely looked like they were having a great time. Our waitress at dinner told us about Diver Ed the night before, and we are so glad she did!

We ave taken several of the National Park Park Ranger boat cruises on past visits to such as the Baker Island cruise, this one with Diver Ed is the best for little kids. Diver Ed, his wife Captain Evil and the Park Ranger put on a fun and informative boat cruise. After finding a good place to anchor, Diver Ed puts on his diving suit and goes under water to find lobsters, crabs, star fish and sea cucumbers to bring back up to the boat. Also an under water camera in dropped to him so the we can see what he sees under water on a big projection screen on the boat. This boat cruise was a fun activity for everyone. Boat cruise was during last week of August 2008.

A truly unique experience whereby you can experience undersea life like you've never seen it before. Not only is it interesting, but Dived Ed is very entertaining in a goofy, John Belushi-like way. Don't miss this trip if you're in the area.

Had a great time. Ed is fantastic with kids, and enjoyable for adults as well. One of our favorite activities in Bar Harbor.

We had a great experience. Our family laughed and learned allot all at the same time. We have told many of our friends to make plans to do this.

I would highly recommend you skip other scenic boat rides and take your family and friends on a trip with Diver Ed. He and his wife along with their 2 dogs take you on an adventure both above and below the ocean. They manage to teach everyone about ocean life and bring it to life when you get to handle the sea life he brings to the surface after you see them on his camera in the ocean. Our group was a mixed bag of kids from ages 7-19 and adults in their late 40s and 50s and we all had a great time. We look forward to going out with Diver Ed the next time we visit Bar Harbor. We learned about Diver Ed from a local and would have missed this wonderful activity if not for her so I would like to recommend that they advertise more. No one should go to Bar harbor and miss this!!!

We participated on an evening cruise in August. Diver Ed is hysterically funny, and he is great with children. Mini Ed, the Newfoundlands, touching the "catch", and the spectacular sunset were just a few of the highlights. Don't miss it!
