Diver Ed

It was great, educational and funny.

If you like to expose your children to a little educational material occaisionally, this is a great way to do it. Diver Ed is immensely entertaining for everyone in the family & we stayed close enough to shore to avoid seasickness. Loved how we could watch what he was doing on the big screen while we were in the boat. He also brings up what he finds so you can see the critters up close & hold 'em if you'd like to.

My 14 yrs old son and I were in Acadia NP for 10 days. We were very glad to have attended Diver Ed's program. The program is very educational and fresh. We enjoyed the live video and examine and handling the live sea creatures. Diver Ed is very funny and we enjoyed the program completely. I would highly recommend this program.

The Dive-In Theater Boat Cruise of Bar Harbor was fantastic! Diver Ed and his crew were entertaining and informative. My husband and I, along with our two boys, ages 10 and 11, learned so much about beautiful Bar Harbor and what lies on its ocean floor. We will definitely plan another trip with Diver Ed on our next vacation to Bar Harbor!

Imagine John Belushi driving The Magic Shcool Bus and you will get an idea of what it is like spending a few hours with Diver-Ed. Our kids loved it 2 years ago when they were 4 and 6 and we went again this week with them aged 6 and 8. If your kids love slimy things and enjoy getting wet and mom and dad (and grandparents) like to laugh then this is the trip for you. Yes the kids and adults learn about the undersea world as well!

This was an EXCELLENT tour. Diver Ed is hilarious and great with the kids. And it is as educational as it is humorous. This was my kids (11 & 9) favorite part of our vacation.

Diver Ed and Captain Evil really make this a fun and educational adventure. The "theater" is very cool and the mini-Ed (we were the maiden voyage of Mini-Ed #90) really helped to put things into perspective. We all had plenty of time to touch/feel all that Ed was able to net and get lots of questions answered. I highly recomment this trip to anyone that is near Bar Harbor.

The Dive-In Theatre was excellent. It was definately aimed at the kids in the audience, but it was also enjoyable for all ages. It was well organized so that all participants were able to see and touch the many sea treasures brought up from the bottom of the ocean. We went on the cruise with the park ranger. I would not hesitate to go on a cruise without the ranger. The boats captain and Diver Ed were very knowledgeable. My kids really enjoyed the cruise. It was not only fun, but we also learned a lot.

This is an absolute must for any family with children visiting Bar Harbor. My husband and I as well as our 3 children loved the entire event and learned alot as well.

This was such an awesome experience for the whole family. The kids were entertained while being educated. (Mine are 4 and 7 years old.) Perfect mix! I think all of the older kids, teens and adults had a great time too. I sure did. I can't think of one thing to change about the entire experience. It was fabulous. I was very impressed when I thought about how the staff makes you feel special and attended to. They take the time to interact with everyone on board. This was pretty remarkable to me when I considered just how many trips they have to do that must be pretty much the same for them, but a unique experience for the patrons. It's obvious how much they care about educating about the oceanlife and habitat. It was a gas! Besides all of the hands on time with the specimens from below, we also saw porpoises jumping, a seal, and a huge Windjammer that came right along side of us. The natural beauty of the location goes without saying. Amazing views! I could have stayed out there on the boat even longer, but this was a perfect length of time for the kids. And, I'll never forget the drama of Mini Ed wrestling a live lobster underwater! I just might have to go again next summer!

When we found the website info we knew Diver Ed was the trip for us and our family. After actually experienceing Diver Ed this is a must see for anyone with kids who are into ocean aquariums and/or sea life. Ed is not what you might expect at first site, however he puts you to ease almost instantly with his humor. Its a cross between "revenge of the nerds", "animal house", "caddy shack" and the Discovery Channel. Be prepared to laugh, get slimed, learn about the sea, and enjoy a wonderful time on the ocean. We are already talking about doing it again on our next trip to Maine. So I recomend you come on board and get ready to experience your "three hour tour"....

If you have children and even if you don't this trip is WONDERFUL!!! The information and actions are presented by a wonderful staff and keep everyones attention. My daughter had a starfish (SEA STAR- as you will learn) tower of 10 on her head - what a great photo!!! I will be talking about this trip for years to come as will my kids.

This was one of the most entertaining things I have ever done with my children. It was extremely fun!!
