We expected our 7 year old to enjoy it, but the older boys had a great time too! We did a lot of hiking at the park, and Diver Ed was a great change of pace activity that we all enjoyed. |

We are repeat customers and bring family whenever we can, especially when they are from out of town. We had a perfect day! overcast but dead calm on the water. Lots of fun and entertaining, loved the dogs! Thanks for another great summer memory! Loved the new boat! |

Dive In Theater with Diver Ed, Capt. Evil, Smart Alex and the dogs was great family entertainment, as well as, being educational. Our daughters, 4 & 8 years old, enjoyed the experience, as we did. The dogs were a bit of a surprise as we boarded the boat but we were smitten' by their calm manner and great size! Diver Ed was great with the kids. He really made a point to get all involved. I was impressed how they took the time to bring us over to see the seals and the CAT before we docked.
We give this two thumbs up for a family adventure! Don't miss this! |

Our daughters are 10 and 7 and they had a blast on this trip! Diver Ed is very funny and entertaining for both the adults and the children and Dr. Evil is very sweet-not evil at all! Mini-Ed #116 was a delightful part of the experience as well. Our trip was on a sunny day in early June and it was quite chilly out on the water so take layers. |

Diver Ed is great. He and his wife put on a great show that is not only educational and hands on but a lot of laughs. A great way to spend an afternoon if you have kids while up on MDI. |

Several people had told me that Diver Ed's was something we had to do when visiting Bar Harbor. I purchased the tickets not expecting too much more than a boat ride. I sure was surprised. We all enjoyed the cruise, the Acadia NP guide and watching Ed suit up, go over and find all sorts of things 65 feet down! Then, in addition he brought these things up for everyone to see. A local lobster, large and small scallops, sea urchins, a Jonah Crab, sea cucumbers and more. Everything was treated well on the boat and kept in some water while we had a look, then we watched everything returned to Frenchman's Bay. We saw seals, porpoise, lots of waterfowl and also some of the islands and rocks close up. It was a great experience! We saw "Mini-Ed" #116 grabbed by the Jonah Crab and almost cut in two! Keep up the good work Ed and Captain Evil! |

Educational and fun....especially if you or your children like wearing sea stars, kissing crabs, holding an ablino sea cucumber (Ed also kisses those, but has the advantage of being able to identify the cucumber's fore from its aft, if you catch my drift.....), or even smelling a diver's flipper (Eww...the kids love Ed's social audacity....)! Plus, depending on the time of year, Ed and Edna will also take advantage of the presence of other local wildlife...our group was fortunate enough to see harbor seals and nesting eagles! Wonderful.
The Dive-In Theatre is a great concept, particularly for school-agers and their parents who can use their children's presence as an excuse to engage in their own fascination with the sea! Leave your cynicism and "entertain me" attitude at the dock, however...there's no room for it on the Starfish Enterprise! |

The grand-kids, ages almost 4 and 5, loved Diver Ed and his dogs and crew and all the squishy sea creatures. They wanted to go again the next day, and they are still talking about the experience. Their Dad and I had a great time, too.

Diver Ed and Captain Evil (I think that is the name he used, I call her Captain Edna) were superb hosts, educators and entertainers. Our grandson is 9 and our granddaughter is 12, both sat on the edge of their seats the entire trip.
Diver Ed interacts with the group while walking along the ocean floor with Mini Ed. As he discoveres the sea creatures he shares the various aspects of each one. He then places them in a safe bag to bring onboard for all to see and touch. They had the opportunity to hold sea cucumbers, scallops, crabs, lobsters, sea stars, sand dollars, star fish and even a sponge; many in various sizes.
We not only learned of the living sea creatures but also the equipment required to allow Diver Ed to walk along the ocean bottom. The kids had great fun "helping" him into the water and expanding his water suit upon his return to the boat.
We recommend any kid at heart to join Diver Ed and Captain Edna on the Starfish Enterprise for a trip you will not soon forget. |

My wife and I were looking for a cruise that our child would find interesting. The Dive-In Theater cruise fit the bill. Diver Ed and the Acadia National Park Ranger were friendly and entertaining. Our child loved watching the video being sent up to the boat by Diver Ed. She also enjoyed holding starfish, lobsters, crabs, snails, and a sea cucumber when Diver Ed came back to the surface. We HIGHLY recommend this cruise to anyone! |

The trip was very interesting and educational. We brought our daughter and son in law
out for an early 25th weddding aniversary and two of their four children, boys 6 and 13.
All were very impressed and entertained and loved the chance to hold the creatures
brought up by Diver Ed from the deep. His comments while collecting the specimans
were also entertaining.
This was our second time to Bar Harbor and will make it a point to take this tour again
when we hopefully return in the next few years.
Also enjoyed the information given by Ranger Tony. With any luck at all, next time it
will not be so cold. Thanks again for a great afternoon. Don and Penny Schroeder

A trip aboard the Starfish Enterprise was so much fun. Diver Ed is as interesting as the many varied sea creatures he brings to the surface for learning and laughs. We will go again! |

Super hero Diver Ed and his side kick Captain Evil provide an entertaining 2 hour ride combo dive in beautiful Bar Harbor Maine. The dynamic duo take you out to discover the area around Bar Harbor describing the various sea life you will encounter. Then the real fun starts once they drop anchor. Diver Ed dives down and video tapes the bottom of the bay describing what he sees while you watch it all happen live and dry on deck with Captain Evil's comments filling in the blanks. He then returns to the boat with bags of the various fauna found, puts them in tubs, talks about them then lets you and the kids handle them! How much better can it get? Diver Ed is careful to explain what dangers might be associated with the animals he's brought on deck but you see with what care he gives to each and every creature. After every one gets their fill Diver Ed then lets them all go back into the bay. I've done this trip 3 times and each time it has been different and no less entertaining. I highly recommend this outing to all! |

Last year we went on a lobster boat ride with our 2 children, aged 2 & 4. My husband enjoyed it, but I spent most of the time trying to not have the kids be disruptive or fall over board. They were engaged for about 5 minutes. This year we went with Diver Ed. The focus was on the kids. They had a blast. The 5 year old said she loved pushing Diver Ed off the boat and the pictures we took show how much they enjoyed picking up sea stars, lobsters and crabs. I enjoyed myself much more and the kids did too. We all did plenty of laughing while learning a lot about sea creatures. To fully appreciate this trip your kids can't mind getting a little wet. If trying to get out on the water in Bar Harbor with young children, I highly recommend Diver Ed's dive-in theater. |

Diver Ed and Evil Edna delivered with a highly entertaining show for both kids and adults. We learned a lot of fun facts about the sea creatures Diver Ed brought up. Watch out for spitting scallops! |
