Diver Ed

Very entertaining, Diver Ed & crew do a great job teaching and entertaining the whole family. Highly recommended.

My 7 and 4 year old sons and I went out on Memorial Day weekend with Diver Ed and Captain Evil. Given that it is not cheap, we were hopeful it would be worth it. The trip blew us away. Ed and Evil and are very entertaining and we learned a ton about the sea creatures that live below us. Plus, the technology of seeing the video on the high-def camera through the screen was amazingly clear. We really felt as if we were at the bottom of the ocean. I would strongly recommend this trip to anyone, especially families with children. The only hiccup is that the ticketing agent was not able to clearly explain where to meet up on the College of the Atlantic campus. The proper place to meet is in the museum building, which is across the street from the giant whale skull. The building has a very small sign which is very hard to see from the road.

This is my second trip to Diver Ed. This year, considering the vast amount of children on board and their young ages, the Park Ranger was speaking way over their heads. I preferred it much better with the humor that Diver Ed provided. Great underwater camera. Much improved pictures!

Friends of our told us not to miss Diver Ed when we visited MDI in August 2011 and we're glad we took their advice! The entire experience was fascinating, educational, a little crazy and just plain fun! Ed is passionate about sharing his underwater world with his guests, and it shows in everything he does. He has a gift for relating to guests of all ages -- our 12 and 10 yo sons were among the older kids on the boat, yet were fully engaged for the entire cruise. The level of interaction with sea life was greater than expected. And seeing the sea floor through Ed's eyes via high-def video was utterly fascinating--we couldn't take our eyes off the 60" screen. Big props to Captain Evil and the rest of Ed's crew as well -- a true all-star(fish) team! We enthusiastically recommend the Diver Ed experience to any family visiting MDI, and especially families who don't live near the sea. You'll laugh out loud, you'll get a little wet and you'll open your eyes to a captivating new world.

Great for kids ! Great original entertainment

Diver Ed and his entire crew were fantastic and very entertaining! Our 7 and 9 year old boys were thoroughly amused as were my wife and I. Would recommend this for anyone with kids or looking for a great way to experience the ocean and it's animals in Maine!!!

the kids 5 & 7 really enjoyed the activity - the technology really enables interaction between us on the boat and the diver - and it was great to see the animals both in the their natural environment and later on the boat. everyone learned something.

This was our family's fourth tour with Diver Ed and we were very excited that on this trip we were able to introduce the fun to some of our extended family. Diver Ed and Captain Edna do a fantastic job entertaining and informing. My seven- and eleven-year olds still don't realize just how educational this trip is because they are laughing so hard at Diver Ed's antics! And while we were sad to hear that their original boat, "The Seal," met with an untimely end, we thoroughly enjoyed the new boat. We were especially amazed at how STUNNING the underwater video was with the new big screen TV! Can't wait to come back!

This was our third adventure with Diver Ed and, as usual, we were not disappointed. We have young children, nine and five, and their attention is captured from the time we board the boat until well after we've arrived back on land. Even though we live along the coast of Central Florida we've never seen sea life captured in such an entertaining and educational way. This last trip was especially facinating thanks to their new high definition camera. Wow! What a difference it makes! Thank you Diver Ed and Captain Edna! You guys really know how to rock a boat!

Diver Ed has a great way of communicating with the kids. He teaches them about the sea life, while making them laugh. Believe me, the adults were laughing too. It was definately the highlight of our vacation.

This trip was a birthday present for our grandson who turned 7. Although we are local, my husband and I had never been on the Diver Ed cruise, and we were not disappointed! Hooray for his antics, along with Mini Ed and Princess Evil. Our grandson loved it as did his parents - and they learned so much while having fun!

I took my son to see Diver Ed four years ago. He was only 3 1/2 at the time. Ever since then he has been asking me when he can go back. We finally had a chance to go again this year, and brought some friends with us this time. The boys had a great time, and are already asking to go again! We won't wait for 4 years again!

Ed and Barbara (Captain Evil) were warm and welcoming, and perfect foils for each other in what turned out to be really rip-roaring theater. There was silly humor and wacky grossness for younger kids, solid zoological information and hands-on interaction, and even really interesting tech info about the boat, dive equipment, and camera gear. My sons are 11 and 14, and had a blast, and my nephews (4 and 6 who recommended Diver Ed to us) also had a terrific time. It takes special skill and lots of hard work to appeal equally to toddlers and teens, and this crew pulled it off brilliantly.

Well worth the time and money. Diver Ed puts on a great educational, funny show for children of all ages.

The kids loved the show. He even spent extra time with the group and took them to see some sunny seals. I bought the tickets but was too lazy to go - sent my son-in-law with t he grandchildren. I live on a boat in Southwest Harbor Maine for the summer and will recommend this trip to anyone who visits with children. Thanks!!
