| Our whole family -- parents and four-year-old son -- enjoyed our Diver Ed experience. Ed kept us laughing with his zany antics and we learned a lot about marine biology, too. "Evil Edna" was sweet and reassuring, keeping us posted on Ed's activities under the water. It was fun to actually see the bottom of the ocean floor, and then to meet the critters that Ed brings up. It was a unique experience and we would definitely recommend it to families visiting Bar Harbor. | ||||||

| Just go! Diver Ed and his wife put together a great way for everyone to explore the local sea creatures both above and below the water in a way that is unique. We had a great time. | ||||||

| "Diver Ed" and his wife are amazing teachers. They make you feel as if they are taking you out on their maiden voyage. Their excitement and passion about what they do is undeniable. Our children learn something every time we go out on an excursion. (We have been 4 times now!) Not only is it tradition in our family to vacation in Bar Harbor every summer, it is tradition to go out with Diver Ed and see what animals we can learn about next! I highly recommend this trip to families with children ages 2 and up. Parents, you will have an unforgettable experience as well! | ||||||

| Diver Ed's Dive-In Theatre was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of our trip. Anyone with kids (ours ranged in age from 2-9 years old) should definitely look into this activity. | ||||||

| Diver Ed's enthusiasm is wonderful and the children get a chance to hold creatures from the bay - they love to be able to actively participate. My three boys, 12, 9, and 7 all loved it. | ||||||

| A truly unique experience whereby you can experience undersea life like you've never seen it before. Not only is it interesting, but Dived Ed is very entertaining in a goofy, John Belushi-like way. Don't miss this trip if you're in the area. | ||||||

| we went on a diver ed trip two years ago upon a friend's recommendation.. we loved it so much we've been telling others it's a MUST DO if traveling to Bar Harbor.. we were very happy the weather was agreeable this year to take the kids again.. and we all enjoyed it just as much as our first time.... it's the perfect amount of time for the kids..... to us waaaay better than a whale watch, with no guarantees of seeing sea life.... and pssst parents the kids don't even realize they are being educated!!!!!! | I am orginially from Maine but was visiting with my husband and 5 year old son from Washington, DC. We had never done this event before, but after seeing the website before our trip decided to check it out. I am glad that we did! It combined having a nice open air boat ride with some entertainment for our son (we liked it a lot too!). I would highly recommend this to families. I would say that children under 3 won't really be able to sit for this show and ride. We had to turn the boat around at the start to bring back a very upset young one. Kids and adults over 3 will have fun! Go for it! Diver Ed and his wife are great! | ||||||

| My wife, my granddaughter and I all enjoyed the ranger led cruise tremendously. Having done graduate work in Marine Biology and Oceanology I guess I was not expecting to see a program that was so authentic and accurate. I figured it would focus on the entertaining more than these things, It was interesting, enlightening and accurate as well as very entertaining. Diver Ed and Captain Evil are excellent presenters. The ranger was also very well prepared. We were in Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park for four weeks and saw and participated in many womderful things and the Diver Ed cruise was one of the most outstanding highlights. | I took my 4 yr old and 7 yr old daughters on the Starfish Enterprise for what turned out to be an entertaining and hilarious trip, full of information and hands-on fun! Diver Ed was great about meeting everyone onboard and really engaging the kids in learning about Maine's sea creatures. Being able to watch the bottom of Frenchman's bay on the screen, live was really amazing. I've lived here for 10 years and I never knew how much sea life was just off the shore of the island! The girls really enjoyed getting up close and personal with sea stars, lobsters, crabs and sea cucumbers- made for fabulous photo ops! I would recommend this for the young and the young at heart! | ||||||

| The trip was very interesting and educational. We brought our daughter and son in law out for an early 25th weddding aniversary and two of their four children, boys 6 and 13. All were very impressed and entertained and loved the chance to hold the creatures brought up by Diver Ed from the deep. His comments while collecting the specimans were also entertaining. This was our second time to Bar Harbor and will make it a point to take this tour again when we hopefully return in the next few years. Also enjoyed the information given by Ranger Tony. | This is on the top of my grandchildrens list of things to do when they come to visit for there 2 weeks in the summer, this is the 3 rd year. There ages are 6 and 8 ... it is never the same from year to year and Diver Ed makes it so interesting ., I am sure they will out grow it sometime but for now it is staying on the top of there list.... | ||||||

| Our group consisted of myself, my husband, our two boys (8 and 10 yrs old), and my husband's sister and her husband. Diver Ed made sure to introduce himself to every person on the boat - kids and adults. He had fun with the kids, made the adults laugh, too. He and Captain Evil were sure to include educational information about the marine life we saw. We had previously attended a National Park led Beyond the Beach and had learned many of the things Diver Ed and Captain Evil shared with us. We struggled with choosing which boating option to take - whale watch, schooner ship, etc - and all of us agreed we made the right choice! | ||||||

| I've taken this trip twice with my 5 year old granddaughter and other family members. Diver Ed and his crew are wonderful with children. The trip is educational but the kids probably don't even realize it, as Diver Ed appeals to a kid's sense of humor, e.g. references to and info about sea cucumber's poop. Sea creatures are seen in their natural habitat via an amazing camera system and they are seen for real when Diver Ed brings them onboard. Participants are taught to handle the animals carefully and respectfully after which the animals are returned to the sea. The crew of three, including Diver Ed's wife,"Captain Evil" , is wonderful and funny. As a bonus, last week, we saw a large number of seals on our way back to the dock. If you're in Bar Harbor, especially with kids, don't miss this trip. | ||||||
