| Our family had a great time on this boat trip. We have a 10 yr old, 3 yr old and 16 month old so it's hard to find an activity that satisfies everyone. The underwater HD camera was great - amazing pictures of the underwater sea life with mini-diver ED. The kids loved picking up the animals and learning about them "Diver Ed" style. Great for kids of all ages - we will definitately go on this again in our next trip to Bar Harbor. | ||||||

| This outing was the highlight of our trip to Acadia. Diver Ed is a world class entertainer with an amazing repertoire of sea life knowledge. His supporting crew are also first rate. This is an activity that is fun for both adults and kids and a bit different with each trip - the vast majority of people on our trip had been out at least one time before. The Discovery Channel should discover this guy - seriously! | ||||||

| Mixed group of mostly family and a few friends. Children were 3 to 7 years old. Some were from away. We had a great time, young and old. Funny and fast paced so the children didn't get bored. We will probably do it again. | ||||||

Humorous and Educational sea adventure

| Our Diver Ed excursion was educational and entertaining. Using state of the art technologies and comical props such as "little ED" , a miniature diver facing the dangers of the ocean bottom, we got to see close up what few get to see at the bottom of Maine's very cold ocean. Traveling with Diver Ed was a little like traveling with John Belushi, nevertheless it was a very unique way to spend an enjoyable afternoon. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone, especially if you have children or grandchildren like we did. Thanks for a great afternoon. Peace, Roland, Veronica and family. | ||||||

| My wife's parents live near Bangor, and we come up for a visit every summer to avoid some of the Phoenix heat. And each summer, we schedule a dive-in theater performance. The whole family has fun every time. | ||||||

| Will try again with a Park Naturalist on board for a more adult focus instead of a strongly child-centered approach. Still, a great show! If Diver Ed would speak a bit more softly into his underwater microphone he could be better understood. A definite "DO" for anyone unfamiliar with marine biology and for families with young children. | ||||||

| Diver Ed is an interesting guy and looks like he likes to entertain, very active. It was really interesting when he went down with the camera and we got to see what the ocean floor really looks like. Captain Evil did a good job at answering questions on the local waters. After brining up the sea creatures that he found on camera I felt that he spent too much time letting us touch and feel them. Most of the boat saw what he brought up in the museum’s tank before the cruise. I found the underwater camera part to be the most interesting. More time with the camera under the water and less time above water with the catch. Overall it was a good time and I would recommend as an attraction when in Bar Habor. | ||||||

| My daughter and family including three kids currently 6,9, and 11 visit me at my camp for two weeks every summer, and every summer we do two or three special things to have fun. I think this beats them all. Diver Ed and his wife are wonderful. It was fun for us all. Bring warm outerwear, water repellant if possible, I highly recommend this activity! | ||||||

| My children are 8 & 4. There is not one thing they didn't like about the tour; starting with Diver Ed's singing, to having every child involved in some way, to talking to the kids at your level & educating them as well are the adults about all the sea creatures. My husband & I enjoyed it just as much as my children did. We are already looking forward to another tour with Diver Ed,Mini Ed & Captain Evil. | ||||||

| We went on the Diver Ed cruise after having a stranger on a bus tell us how much her family had enjoyed it. There were four adults and four children in our group and everyone had a great time. Diver Ed is a real unique character and it was an experience like no other. | ||||||

| It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Our group included three children who were kept interested by Diver Ed and Ranger Emily. We were lucky to see seals, Bald Eagles and lots of creatures who live under the sea. I would highly recommend it to everyone. | ||||||

| On the way out, we saw harbor porpoises. Then the boat anchored on the lee side of an island where the sea was perfectly still and calm. It was a gorgeous day. Diver Ed entertained/explained all as he prepared to dive and then had the little kids "push" him in, except he did a back flip on his way off the boat! Immediately he communicated with the boat passengers via microphone from under water. Captain Edna could talk back to him as well. She told us about his underwater camera while he hunted up some animals to bring back to the boat. Then he surfaced to fetch the camera, took it back down, and we watched very high definition video live from the bottom of the ocean while he continued to tell us about what he was looking at, and Edna explained as well. The screen is in the upper, darkened part of the boat so it is easy to see from any of the nice new bench seats. (The entire boat is brand new this year because the old one was destroyed in a storm last fall that dragged it from its mooring onto land.) Diver Ed takes Mini Ed down with him as a "ruler" to give perspective to the size of the animals on camera, which can be anywhere from teeny tiny starfish or crabs to 42" lobster. Diver Ed is the only diver in the State of Maine with a permit to bring up lobster. After the video show, he brings up all the animals and educates the passengers about them one at a time. The kids are laughing so hard they don't even know they are learning things. It is wonderful. After explaining about all the animals, everyone gets to touch and handle the animals as much as they want to, subject to stern rules (no pinching, squeezing, twisting, pulling of the live animals!). Then everyone says goodbye to the animals and they return them to the sea. Then the boat goes back, possibly seeing more wildlife on the way in: porpoise, seal, eagle, osprey, etc. We absolutely love Diver Ed and have gone every time we visit Maine since we were lucky enough to stumble upon him the first year he started the Dive In Theater, 2000. | ||||||
