Diver Ed

My wife, 10 year old daughter and I were repeat visitors to Diver Ed's trip. This trip is highly entertaining and educational. Diver Ed gets the kids actively involved in the process of learning about the animals that live in the sea. After his dive Ed (along with dive partner "Mini-Ed") brings a collection bag of animals to the boat for everyone to touch and interact with. He talks about each animal, explaining its life cycle, eating habits and other interesting facts. Among the animals that he brought aboard were sea stars, urchins, crabs, lobsters and sea cucumbers. Ed's presentation is hilarious as well as informative. I can't recommend his trip highly enough! Ray Hooton Clarkston, MI

Diver Ed is an interesting guy and looks like he likes to entertain, very active. It was really interesting when he went down with the camera and we got to see what the ocean floor really looks like. Captain Evil did a good job at answering questions on the local waters. After brining up the sea creatures that he found on camera I felt that he spent too much time letting us touch and feel them. Most of the boat saw what he brought up in the museum's tank before the cruise. I found the underwater camera part to be the most interesting. More time with the camera under the water and less time above water with the catch. Overall it was a good time and I would recommend as an attraction when in Bar Habor.

Something of interest for all ages, from toddler to grandma. Entertaining and educational. Will go again!

Diver Ed and Cap't Evil provide a show with the enthusiasm of a first time trip coupled with the expertise of seasoned professionals.

Our trip on Diver Ed's Starship Enterprise was truly out of this world! The opportunity to learn about local ecology and creatures from a team who clearly is passionate about the local environment is not to be passed up. For grownups, Diver Ed, Captain Evil, and the rest of the crew are a wealth of fascinating information. For kids, Ed's slightly zany personality can't help but spark enthusiasm and laughs. (Observing the quirky rapport of the team was nearly as interesting and entertaining as the featured attraction of wildlife.) And for all ages, the chance for a hands-on experience with marine life - which for us included cradling starfish, lobsters, the unbelievably cute hermit crabs, scallops, and the bizarre sea cucumber - is AWESOME and memorable. The scenery of the outlying islands is beautiful, as well, and the museum of the College of the Atlantic, where tour groups meet up, is well curated and worth a look, too. I give Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater my absolute highest recommendation. If you're downeast, don't miss this!

My son had a fantastic time and talks about Diver Ed anytime he is talking about the trip or animals he saw. It is a great presentation of sea life and a fun way to learn about them and touch them. We will do it again when we visit again.

It was one of the highlights of our trip. Not to be missed! We have three children -- 3, 6, and 9. All of them loved it.

Diver Ed and crew obviously love their jobs! They held the interest of children and adults alike. We will definitely do this on our next trip to Bar Harbor and will recommend the cruise to everyone coming this direction. Thanks to Diver Ed and Captain Evil!

This was a wonderful family adventure that definitely holds the interest of all ages. I do feel the activities are most appropriate for children 7 and up. My grandchildren are 4&5 and, although everyone was wonderful to them and toned down appropriately when talking to the little ones, it is much more captivating for older children and I feel overpriced for the younger kids.

I loved it because Diver Ed was so funny and the dogs and touch tank were great!

We had heard from another family that this activity was great - but we did not know how much until we went ourselves. I would recommend this to everyone, with or w/o kids (but kids seem to love it the most). Diver Ed is funny, educational, his crew is wonderful, and Levi and Halo are adorable. Probably the best morning of our Bar Harbor trip!

Diver Ed was highly recommended to us by a close friend who went last year with his 8 year old son. My husband and I, along with our 4.5 yr old daughter, absolutely loved it and it appeared everyone else on the boat did as well. Diver Ed has the perfect personality. Part Jack Black part something else but the parents and kids alike were laughing and enjoying themselves from beginning to end. Truly a fun time.

A friend had told us that Diver Ed was a "must do" in Bar Harbor. I saw the brochure and wouldn't have gone based that but our friend's recommendation was so enthusiastic that we had to do it. All of us loved it. It was fantastic, entertaining, funny, and educational. Highly, highly recommend! When we went on the trip, his diving buddy "Mini Me" was #93. I wonder what number he'll be on the next time we go.

One word: Awesome!!!! A must do in Bar Harbour. Above and beyond expectations.

We really enjoyed our time with Diver Ed! Before our trip to Bar Harbor I went online to book a boat trip for my family and stumbled across Diver Ed's website. After comparing some boat tours, Diver Ed's sounded the most interesting for children so I decided to go with it. I'm so glad I did! It was a really fun, interactive and educational experience for not only my daughter but my husband and I as well. Diver Ed is great with the kids and made everyone laugh and learn at the same time! My daughter came home telling family and friends about it. I would highly recommend.
