Diver Ed

You are doing such a good good thing by educating kids (and their parents) about the ocean and its creatures. You made it tremendously fun and interesting, yet the shyer kids were okay observing from the periphery. I will recommend you to everyone I know who heads your way. You really are superheroes; you're doing GOOD (you're also doing well, but only superheroes do good)

A thoroughly entertaining, educational, and interesting activity to do with children or without! Very well organized. All 3 of our children loved it, and hearing them recount their experiences to family and friends really shows us that they got something out of it. I would say this is a "don't miss" acitivity to do while in Bar Harbour!

Cannot say enough how enthusiastically the whole family enjoyed the Diver Ed adventure. I have been on many "harbor" cruises around the country and this one was the most unique and entertaining. Tremendous learning activity for parents and children with plenty of laughter delivered by the antics of Diver Ed and his highly intelligent crew. These are nice people who take great pride in what they do and have an explicit desire to make sure everyone has a good time. It is amazing what is on the ocean floor right beneath us and how much there is to enjoy about it. Strongly suggest they start Diver Ed franchise opportunities for the rest of the coast. Simply just great memories for our family. Not cheap for a family (is anything?) but well worth the time and money, Thank you.

This was the unexpected highlight of our week's vacation in Maine! The Dive In Theater is educational and funny for adults and children alike. Diver Ed is as much a showman as he is an expert on underwater life, and Captain Evil has a wonderfully detailed delivery as she describes what we're seeing on the large screen as well as adding in the personal anecdotes that are flavored with humor. My kids enjoyed seeing the Playmobil "Mini Ed" diving buddy who accompanies Diver Ed as he is a vehicle for silly, laugh-out-loud skits under the sea. This is an attraction not to be missed if you have children under 12. You will be hearing the gleeful giggles and screams for a lifetime in the retelling of this adventure. We had the added bonus of taking the last trip of the day and so enjoyed the sun setting on the water. Do support this business!! You will find it worth every penny! Diver Ed and Captain Evil are so personable that you will feel as though you are guests in a fun-filled houseboat where no guest is overlooked. Overall a fantastic experience!

I live locally in Machias, but this is the fourth time I've taken a group of out-of-state tourists for the Diver Ed tour - it is the first thing we do when anyone comes to visit in the summer months. This last trip we had a party of 14, and everyone one of them, from grandmas to 6 year olds, said it wasTHE most fun they've had in a long time. I personally love to watch Diver Ed interact with the children ... he is such a natural comic (looks and acts like John Belushi in his good years) but, even more importantly, he and his wife are both born natural educators; teaching the kids valuable oceanographic information without them even knowing they are "in school", and I learn something new every time myself. My cousin's 11-yr-old grandson said, "Best trip EVER ... well, after Disneyworld" ... I think that pretty much sums it up better than anything else I could say. Definitely take this trip if you are in the Bar Harbor vicinity - so much more fun than the tourist trap shops downtown :-)

We enjoy the Dive In Theater so much that we make it an annual event on our vacation.

The Dive-in theater was a hilariously entertaining and educational experience. A cross between Jack Black and John Belushi, Diver Ed had the adults laughing as hard as the kids. He and his wife were terrific with the children and involved them in many aspects of the show. We'll be going back the next time we're visiting Acadia.

Diver Ed is fantastic..the children were completely entertained!

The Dive-in theater boat cruise was absolutely amazing. All family members enjoyed the whole trip and we all learned a lot. I would say this is a must do activity while you are in Bar Harbor.

Despite the rain we had a great time. Diver Ed does a terrific job of finding creatures and bringing them up to see and then release. You get a great view of the bottom of the ocean with the dive camera. Captain "Evil" Edna isn't evil at all--very friendly and informative during Ed's dive. The rangers were knowledgeable and helpful and so were Spencer and "The Professor". Loved the big, sweet doggies, too. Ed is especially good with the kids. Lots of fun for young or older people. It was pretty wonderful to be able to touch giant starfish and sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and crabs and lobsters. Wear layers and raingear--even though the boat is covered, it's open to the elements, which makes it more fun, but also wet! Highly recommend!

This was our second trip with diver-ed. The trips are very educational and incredibly entertaining. If you're not going to dive household this is the closest you can get.

This was our second time with Diver Ed and Captain Evil! I have teenagers, and they still love it. The hosts are warm, funny and friendly. Everyone gets to interact with native sea creatures. They also take the time to show you unique highlights of the area. On this trip, they stopped so we could observe harbor seals and two Bald Eagles. Magnificent!

Our family which includes children ages 8, 7 ,4, and 2 years old had a wonderful time! Diver Ed and his wife made the trip very educational and entertaining! We will definitely do again when we go back to Bar Harbor!

What a great idea, but it would not be the same without Ed, Edna and Mini Ed. Thanks guys
